Loudoun so far cruising Baby Energy Drink FC, 3-nil. A brace by former SKC academy player Tyler Freeman and Jacob Greene.
The D seems to be pretty good. I haven't watched, but 3 shutouts cant be just a fluke. Anyone who has watched have any comments on how the D is doing so well? I did notice that they are playing the same back 3/5 that the full team is playing.
DC United should sign Kristian Fletcher to a pro contract if they have any wits about them: FULL TIME: Blow out those candles 🎂@USYNT international Kristian Fletcher scored twice on his 17th birthday to lead @LoudounUnitedFC to a 2-0 win.#LDNvLA | https://t.co/E0iEkSoKOk pic.twitter.com/JpX3hxNio9— USL Championship (@USLChampionship) August 7, 2022
LUFC has a contract with Leesburg that they will go no lower than Div. II. DC United has plans to start a MLSNP team in Baltimore (2023 or 2024) which will be Div. III.
thanx now that you posted that I do remember hearing something about that. It won't be 2023 the list of who is coming in 2023 has just been posted.

LU just signed Benteke's younger brother from the German 4th Division. Guess he was part of the DP deal.
First 2023 Home game - vs San Antonio March 19th I believe they pen the season against Memphis on 3/11 Also, DCU just (or is about to) sell off a chunk of Loudoun. Probably first step in removing themselves altogether for MLS Next, if that stays a thing.
Funny factoid - at the public forum last summer at AF, Stewart Mairs directly addressed this (I asked the question). I framed the question/comment as saying LU was good for young players because they were going up against professionals trying to prolong or promote careers while MLSNext sounded like a glorified U-23 Academy set up. Mairs agreed forcefully saying LU was valuable in that regard. However Mairs has subsequently shown no credibility for me, so there's that.
True, though I'd be willing to try a random Loudoun County field as a replacement One of the most interesting ones I saw was away in Columbus, Tommy Rongen stopped by and provided Dave Johnson-like play-by-play for us. Otherwise, as you likely remember, it's hard to even know who half the opposing players even were (unless they were rehabbing from an injury or DUI)
On one of my early Toronto trips I made my way to an auxillary game. I get off the subway and start walking towards the field complex. Of course it ends up being no where near the subway station. On the way I run across Matt Mathai and he picks me up and takes me to the field. The match is cancelled because of flurries? Cold?
