The music for the commercial was written by Nils Lofgren and is a staple of OK Go! shows.... I used to take lessons from his daughter, Meme, the little girl in the commercials. She was very easy on the eyes - so much so it difficult to concentrate at times in class. Still easy on the eyes: About Me (memerhee.com) Nils also wrote "Bullets Fever"..... maybe we can get him to write something better for DCU than what the SGs have come up with over the last 25 years....
Does anyone think that the guy who they have in that commercial shooting the 5 yard PK into a goal in the middle of the field was thinking while they filmed, "gee wiz, I am a professional".
I am hardpressed to recall another commercial that is so profoundly wrong in the details of thing it purports to promote....
Sunday for the first time I saw a banner in the commercial, The Reagan Years which is the name of the band.
Hey if you really want to see by far one of the biggest bands to come out of Loudoun (and all from the same high school Potomac Falls) that are growing at a massive rate - check out https://www.sub-radio.com or see their Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/2lCUVconWp5YjxdYssfZ8J. They literally have millions of plays and views especially on tiktoc and Reddit. But I agree stop with the commercial.
I’m bored. No player acquisition news is rough. So, let’s just bump this thread and hear thoughts about whether or not this commercial will take it’s rightful place during the 2022 season.
You mean in the loop they play day and night to break uncooperative terror suspects? Seems unlikely. Could one day be the subject of a reparations lawsuit.
It's definitely easier to sing and/or dance to And a Loudoun sponsorship would definitely be more credible than the rumored BS crypto-currency(ish) thing. I think I should be able to deduct some portion from my LoCo tax bill
Don't worry. Once crypto-currency company of the day goes bankrupt, DC United can get another shirts sponsor. Anyone remember PSINet Stadium?
One of the original founders of Mozilla referred to crypto-bois as "planet incinerating grifters." Sounds about right.
What I liked about last night's commercials on NBCSW, was that some intern kept the stadium sound feed on during the commercials. Gave them a surreal quality like a stadium full of people were cheering the Leidos commercial.
That old intern we used to blame everything on is now a vice-president We didn't have many commercials at all on the directv nbcsn+ feed - they dropped and re-acquired the signal a few times during the game, each very shortly - but they lost the feed during early half-time and didn't rejoin until 4 minutes into the second half
What is so puzzling about the DCU telecasts is that I think back to a period more than 40 years ago when I lived in central Jersey. My girlfriend and I would often go to Cosmos home games at Giants Stadium, with crowds of 40K+ commonplace. All road games were on over the air TV (Channel 9 I think). And home games were on radio with announcing by Jim Carvallas and Seamus Malin. DCU has given us FloSports, Sinclair and English language broadcasts in the early 2000's by Tony Limarzi that sounded like they were on shortwave.
I used to think that, too. Then I keep seeing videos of the Ohio state marching band. favorite so far is their tribute to Neil Peart and Rush.
