I was wondering who you think in the EPL has the loudest fans. The loudest I can think of was Blackburn vs Man U at Blackburn. What do you think?

The best fans (noise wise) to visit The Hawthorns so far this season have probably been Southampton and Sunderland, both making more noise despite most teams bringing larger numbers. The worst easily being Fulham.

a fire fan (maktheknife) and a DC fan (rymannryan) definition of loud is different.

Fire games are like a funeral, very quiet so mak thought the game was loud, however

DC games are extremely loud so ryan thought the game was quiet.

    My explanation.

It's really close to impossible to judge from TV because it is so dependent on how the person doing the sound mix has the levels set for the game and microphone placement.

How the TV companies mic the ground makes a great difference to how loud fans seem on the box. Have to watch in person to get a proper idea. But the West Brom & Brum fans were both enthusiastic at our place.

Maybe making up for their players' performances... ;)

I was at that game, and you are right, the atmosphere was a little flat.

For me the best atmosphere was the Manchester derby, espicially when Neville was subbed.

You are talking live, whomever was talking about microphone placement was referring to how it sounds on television

and Mutts wasn't talking to you about his age

The WBA supporters do a good job as they impressed me when we went there for their first home match of the season.

We were amazingly loud against Chelsea when we beat them 2-0 on Saturday. It was brilliant. Even louder than we Scum/Rio came back.

    Re: Re: Loudest Fans

there are a disturbing amount of fire fans that are far too ready to resort to childish insults on this board. thanks a lot, you guys really give us all a good name.

    bravo.

    seriously.

as for my perception of the game, i thought it seemed loud on tv, yes. maybe it's because i had the volume at 55/60. i really dont think it had anything to do with what my perception of 'loud' is, or anything to do with the team i support.

Both are loud, this is just plain ignorant. I guarantee you've been to neither place in person.
