After tonight's game a Casbah member lost a small bag that was sitting on the benches in section N3 while we were folding up the big Quakes flag. The bag is a small blue bag with the San Jose Clash logo and contained a camera and a set of keys. If you found this bag or a loose set of keys or anything please PM me so I can help you get it back to the owner.
Hi Noah and everyone: Bad news/good news scenario: I was able to find my keys so I was able to get home. However, the bag is still missing, with the camera, the 2003 media guide, San Jose Clash with Club Quake pins, and pocket fan. I've already filed the police report and have asked around, so I'm hoping for a bit of divine intervention, but I hold to hope that it could be found. I hate to see something like this cloud my faith in my fellow fans. The other stuff can be replaced, but the camera is the most valuable item (as was the keys). Thanks! Nap
Nap... Sorry to hear that this happened. As you and I discussed after the game, Spartan Stadium (and the North End, in particular) has become a "safe haven" for a lot of us. We are surrounded by friends and enjoy a high comfort level there. It is very unnerving when something like this happens. I share your hope that the bag was merely "lost" and will be returned to Lost and Found by another fan or good samaritan. Also, thanks to Noah for posting this thread (beat me to it.)
Thanks for stickying the item. It's been a long day and night, but I'll just sit and hope for the best since I did all I could. I totally appreciate the support from all of you both here and offline. You're all family to me. Best...
Good luck Nap. I hope that your bag and all of your items turn up intact.       GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Were there a pair of these http://www.cafeshops.com/bigsoccer.3634027 in that bag??? .......all kidding aside, are you guys sure it didn't get knocked underneath the benches and slide down? I'm not sure how the bleachers in the Casbah are.
I'm very very sure. Usually it would have been down there, but it was one of those things in which it was there one minute and gone the next... also, the bleachers are steel where it's easy to spot stuff... No, there's nothing incriminating in there except some personal moments with the kids--however there are some highlights from the Quakes, MLS Cup, myself with Landon Donovan and Joe Cannon, and a print copy of myself and Pat Onstad. Also there was a picture of Tim Howard stopping a PK from Luis Hernandez in the 2001 All Star Game... With the high number of people that were there, chances are some "hooligan" decided to do something immoral... As the beerking paraphrased to me offline once, "I hate to see something like this happen to our fellow fan."
I'm so sorry that your bag was taken. It is terrible to think that someone at the game could do this to another fan. I really hope it is returned to you soon.
Thanks! It really sucks for something like this to happen, and I know a lot of the gang are great people and we always look out for each other. With something like that happening, it would be a very good reason for someone not to return, especially with someone like that in the stands. Right now, it's a very trying time.
Sorry to hear about the bag Nap. Hopefully it'll turn up. I lost a cell phone at Spartan over a year ago and that was long gone. I felt it fell out of my pocket into the bleachers and my guess is the cleaning crew swept it up. Remember back then, I was still a casbaher. I posted that incident on these boards too. Either way I hope for the best.
Nap: No word, huh? That really sucks. It should make everyone think twice about bringing your valuables inside the stadium...
