I mean one could be called a top 5 player in the world at one time. The other cannot.

Right. It's the kind "greater than" situation that > just isn't enough to capture it. You need a "> by a factor a very large number" symbol

Well there is that but he had said in an interview that I saw on YouTube that he was interested in an MLS coaching job if offered and under the right circumstances.

That was actually either recorded or taken as a direct quote by Arriola. He absolutely wanted out and was not enamored by Losada's approach.

Hey, look, there's still hope. Masochism is a thing.

this is a little tardy but....while all seem to agree Arriola did not get along with Losada but to be accurate, Goff did not quote Arriola [instead he wrote, "Losada’s relationship with the players led to some asking to leave the team, three people close to the situation said. Among them was Paul Arriola, the U.S. national team winger who was traded to FC Dallas in January. “'There were a lot of strained relationships,” one person close to the situation said.' "

and former WaPo Soccer Insider guest writer Pablo wrote "...Arriola actually pushed the club to move him, in large part, said multiple sources, due to friction with Losada."

A coach chasing away a DP, other players grumbling, publicly calling out the ownership, lots more fighting with Lucy and Dave and others than has been reported, with no upside in sight (and maybe a reason it has been difficult to land another DP) and, well, it makes sense they cut the coach loose.
