Fine if you park in the lot. But a couple of times we had a dogsitter and parked by her house and walked a couple of blocks to the stadium. Which meant getting harassed, mostly by Gal fans, not a pleasant experience. A few times I wondered what we'd do if we were physically attacked, as we were vastly outnumbered!
“MATCH PREVIEW: Earthquakes hit the road for 100th California Clásico vs LA Galaxy” (SJEarthquakes.com - Thursday, 4/18/24) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Rodrigo Faria Flash Back to his first start, also a very makeshift lineup that could still beat the dog bark out of us. And possibly the most important goal in our history. Old reliable Ian Russell and LAndy Cakes with the assists.
Just that game...and let's try to forget most of what's happened in the 20+ years since! I could live that night again 1000 times.
It was the best night I've ever had at a soccer game. Everyone was involved in that game, it was AWESOME as a teenager.
It was the best night anyone ever had at a soccer game. You could have brought in a 100-year-old on a stretcher and within an hour, they would have been hopping up and down and screaming along with the crowd.
We had issues getting there, got to our seats and saw the Quakes were down 2 - 0. We didn't give a F**K and started yelling at the the top of our lungs, "LET'S GO QUAKES!!!" and started ringing a cowbell I had gotten at a Shark's game and had written on it, with a Sharpie, "Cobie's a Hack!" and proceeded to support our Quakes and be absolutely amazed!!!!!!!!!!
The MLS Season Pass announcers for this game will be Max Bretos and Brian Dunseth. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Oof, Galaxy man Max Bretos, great. Maybe Dunseth will soften the blow a bit but it’s probably going to be a Gal praise-fest.
Judd “scraps” but he seems to lose every battle or gets called for a foul. I’m sure it’s happened but I can’t recall a time this year that he won a challenge against a defender. Also a red card risk.
The latest episode of “Quakes Exclusive” (Season 2, Episode 9) is now available to view in the San Jose Insider section of the San Jose Earthquakes page of MLS Season Pass. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
he puts in a shift and ebobisse hasn't for a long time. it's a big field and we are only going to have 30-40% possession. ebobisse isn't going to get many chances.
Ebobisse is like having another midfielder in terms of his contribution to the buildup - he's one of the hardest working CF's in MLS in terms of the work that he puts in all over the field. We're going to need that if we're going to generate any chances at all. Judd hovers around the offside trap and gets into challenges with CBs - challenges that he always seems to lose, or he fouls.
Hope to see our grinders and a formation change to 4-2-3-1. This is one of those games where everybody expects us to get absolutely pulverized. Classic MLS gravity game. A high flying team who can afford to drop points and the other, desperate to crawl up from the bottom of the well. I'm expecting MLS weirdness and a Quake result.
It's possible to play them both and to play Pelligrino or Benji. We did it against SKC and IMO it was our best stretch of play all season. For some reason Luchi hasn't gone back to it one time. On paper it's a 4-4-2 but since Jebo plays so deep in midfield it plays more like a 4-2-3-1 or something like that. We could even keep Niko in the lineup by pairing him with Jackson in CM and dropping Gruezo and Morales. ------------------------------Judd-------------------------- Pelle/Benji------------Jebo------------------Espinoza --------------------Niko-----------Yueill------------------ Marie/Costa----Beason*------Rodrigues----Akapo ----------------------------'Brough------------------ * Bruno is still listed as "out" on MLS Availability But honestly I haven't been impressed with Judd. As I said, he seems to never win duels with CB's, he's a red card risk, and he has a tendency to ruin our attacks with wild very low-chance shots.
