Too lay to check, but I think the announcer stated during the game that the Quakes had set a record with the worst start in MLS history. The game was essentially over with a 3-0 and it was only lack of focus and playing the scrubs allowed the Quakes to get close. Gruezo and other central defenders were just horrible. Add Yueless in the middle (really, what value does Yuell provide) and Niko making some silly mistakes and you have a crap shot. To keep my blood pressure down, I have started to check the final score before watching the game. Usually, it takes me until the middle of the season. On a side note, at least they only gave up 4 goals. KC scored 5 against Bay FC. Ouch! Fire GM and Coach. Get a new coach bump and play younger players (drop Beason, etc).
wouldn't surprise me. I heard them say that the Quakes had only won 3 or 4 of their last 47 road games, or something like that.
Yeah, ours was a good pass by Akapo I think it was, and a good effort by Jebo to beat the defender and put a really good first touch on the ball.
The PK the Quakes conceded was by one of their best players. The PK the Galaxy conceded was by the coach's nephew who their fanbase wanted to be cut from the team long ago, but who was put into the game by his uncle because they had a big lead... Zavaleta is essentially the fifth CB on their roster (current starters Yoshida and Caceres, Emiro Garces who they signed a few days ago, Jalen Neal who is coming back from injury) and it doesn't really make sense for the 5th CB to be a 31 year old journeyman instead of say 20 year old homegrown Marcus Ferkranus.
18-year old still relatively inexperienced Niko Tsakiris is "one of our best players"? But regardless, who gave up the PK is not relevant to the question of which one was "luckier".
Puig lit up the Quakes and earned an extension Sources: LA Galaxy and star midfielder Riqui Puig agree to terms for contract extension.Puig, 24, a leading player for West-leading LAG. That & more news here:https://t.co/hwW2nn1TXM— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) April 22, 2024
Making bucatini arabiatta with meatballs, all from Eataly, for dinner tonight (after watching the Leafs game)!
Last year Kansas City had 3 points and 3 goals scored through 10 games and then they made it to the playoff quarterfinals.
I remember one sequence where Morales basically shoved him out of the way. I lol'd... and it sounded like the Carson crowd cheered.
I think one of the problems in bringing in Bouda is what is his position exactly? Forward? He wants to make an impact in his limited minutes but winds up just kind of all over the place and sometimes just getting in the way. That’s something Luchi needs to address.
I think a lot of people in and around MLS dislike us. But they dislike us because we’re screw-ups. We’re a shit show in a clown car. We’ve been awful for years. We got a little more respect when we hired Matías, but that evaporated when we continued to suck. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy, I think it’s a consensus. Go Quakesfans!!
Seems to me that the announcers have the same talk track. The Quakes “have something but I’m not sure what it is” garbage but they got this kid Niko who could really be something (which I hope does happen). It’s the same distraction that happened with Cade. Instead of calling out how bad we are on tv or radio and hopefully forcing Stinky Fish to spend the $4M he got for selling Cade on reinforcements they pontificate about Niko which puts him under unnecessary pressure to perform/save the team. I’m not sure why trying to become a selling Club… “the Philly of the west” was ever considered a step forward and that selling Cade was suddenly going to change how Stinky Fish does business. The A’s are a selling club and their fans foot the bill between talent sell offs while Stinky Fish laughs his way to the bank. It’s so sad to be a Quakes fan.
