The smaller NED % is usually for smaller companies no? Because those are usually family owned businesses.
If you're anything in real life as you are here then you're the perfect example that voting should be considered a privilege and not a right.
You can also argue that the current club leadership pushed the club to dizzying revenue numbers. If Florentino would run this club for an investment fund they'd be including him in their dinner table prayer. Real Madrid fans acting like the club is in shambles and they're suffering is a freak show to me.
"Some" argued that the club is is shambles. I didn't. So why put forth that argument? Let's not pretend you didn't pull a temper tantrum with Flo's Sueprleague proposal.
The Superleague was the right idea presented by the wrong person at the wrong place at the wrong time. Eventually, it will happen.
Requilme was such a fool. The campaign was a slam dunk if he just focused on attacking Florentino's project. He had such an easy out too. Just tell members he can't promise a thing because of the short window his opponent forced on him and the surprise elections he called. Didn't have to bring up names at all. What a dumb ass.
Florentino himself did. Riquelme simply followed the formula. You dont always win elections that way because it depends on other factors. In this case Florentino is simply too embedded and powerful. But you never win elections by being a full on smart ass corporate technocrat. You are overestimating the voters. They are much closer to Niro or Rmrules than to you. Riquelme pulled off a pretty solid campaign considering how little time he was given for it.
Florentino was taking on Sanz who had just won another CL. Riquelme had the chance after two trophyless seasons at RM. Florentino also kept VDB as RM coach and convinced enough voters that Figo will be signed no matter what. Riquelme didn't even do the things Calderon did right like having a coach (Capello).
He didn't even get the bare minimum right and contradicted himself on every corner. It's just that the standard is so low right now in Spanish football that this is somehow acceptable.
The biggest mistake Riquelme made in his campaign is not attack the Mourinho signing and not promising to break up Vinicius and Mbappe. These are the major weaknesses for Florentino. Its interesting that Riquelme never said Klopp agreed to take the position. He said Raul will talk to him the day after the elections if he wins. But people immediately interpreted it as having agreement with Klopp and then accuse him of lying. Meanwhile, Florentino says he will offer 150 or more millions for an unknown player that is either unattainable or not worth the money, and the supporters rejoice that we got Olise for three times the amount he went for two years ago. Worth noting that Riquelme didnt say the same thing about Haaland and Klopp (he said he got Haaland and he will try for Klopp) but to people this difference doesnt matter and not an indicator that he might actually have secured Haaland. Its just a bit biased tbh.
He said he had a coach ready to go. And players. Himself, on video. Then he backpedaled on everything.
My spanish is not that good, I understood he says he has decided on the coach. Not that hes got Klopp tied up. Maybe he has an alternative to Klopp in mind. Either way its not going to be Mourinho with him and for me thats crucial.
You're approaching this from an anti Florentino angle so if Riquelme would say he's hiring Roncero as his coach you'd be like "loves the team, pure energy, I like it!" It's unfortunate because he could have started something to build upon but this show is a one off event.
I am glad elections are happening. Socios got to know what Riquelme is about. I feel the impression about him hasn't changed compared to the first impression he created in 2021 mocking Zidane and promising Klopp. There will be quite a few presidential options for the socios to choose from during an election without Florentino on the ballot and I am hopeful some of them will be better than Riquelme.
Who cares if Riquelme mocked Zidane? Its not like Zidane is some kind of deity. Florentino insulted everyone and no one cares. Riquelme has legends like Raul, Iker, Hierro and Ramos on his side. One would think that has to count for something, but still no. The idea of Florentino until he drops dead is a disturbing one. Hes an 80 old man clinging to power that he held unchecked for almost three decades and people are acquiescent to that because they are more comfortable with what looks familiar despite clearly seeing that he is showing worrying signs of decline as a decision maker.
I like Florentino vision and program..If he manages to buy Mourinho, Konate, Dumfries, Paz and Olise he should be crowned once again..Our midfield aint that bad as we think.I think Mourinho will use Tchou, Valverde, Guler, Paz and Bellingham..we got also Pitarch who I hope will develop further as we expect.Hope Mourinho manages the dressing room as we expect and I hope that with Tchou and Valverde is everything solved. We would probably get rid off Ceballos, Mastantuono (loan), Garcia (loan) and maybe Camavinga.Wouldnt be surprised if Mourinho keeps also Camavinga.Rodrygo will be missed for most of the season.Thats why I would love that we keep Brahim as joker from bench.
It felt like it was the Spanish cohort against Perez. Iker, Raul, Hierro etc and maybe the Socios care about that? Personally, I couldn’t give a crap. I just want the best players and people at the club. I look at how Modric and Kroos reacted to their exits and then compare that to Iker and I get the feeling that some of the Spanish players have a sense of entitlement
Im saying the guys who are with Riquelme are the guys who were sent out via the back door. Ramos is not a supporter of him being president given his social media activity and support of Perez online.
