Now the only thing missing is the guy with the long term vision that fits what Riquelme is talking about.

Because clearly he's not there yet. Asking people to let you learn how to pilot the plane mid flight isn't a very sexy proposal.

    How is it "clearly"?

Because he hasn't explained anything about anything. It's really just "make Madrid great again".

    Just not good enough.

I mean the elections havent started yet. Its pretty unlikely that he really has no plan after years of posturing.

So far, no? He has a maximum of 15 days before the election, his candidacy was confirmed today.

So up until last week he had no opinion, no stance no nothing. He just woke up from a winter nap and has to catch up?

    "The elections just started!"

Pretty sure some long standing issues are yes/no questions that he surely had an opinion on that he's just not trying to commit to right now.

Stuff like "we will only sign foreign players that fit and bring up the best talent through the youth team" always sounds like nothing to me.

Funny how anyone not @4x4s interprets his posts as Florentino is the most/more corrupt candidate, his corruption is something the other candidates can only dream of.

Real Madrid needs and deserves corruption at the highest levels.

I don't really consider Riquelme a serious candidate. I do not think he has thought a lot of things thorugh. To be fair. He probably thought there was not going to be an election for another 3 years.

Yes. Electoral board approved and there is now elections for two weeks. He’s asked for at least one debate with Perez on live television

Having elections after 17 years is good tbh. Potential candidates always developed cold feet when they realized defeat would be a crushing one against Perez.

Last election Perez faced was way back in 2004 and he got an overwhelming 94% of votes. Riquelme had to go for it after Florentino basically challenged him in an insulting manner.

If he calls the shots on who's signed and who isn't, he's the exact same thing by your definition.

    Think about that.

You better be ready for what's about to come then, because the people Riquelme has proposed as vice president and as the people around him are all either tied to his company or the companies that fund his company. There's going to be some "investigative" reporting going around for sure.

Its a bit of a joke really that on one hand Real Madrid is sort of this member owned by the fans kind of structure but when the time to make decisions comes around it's those that were born into wealth by Real Madrid supporting parents.

Boluda's son is part of Riquelme's team. People remember him from saying "we'll give Liverpool a bath" and them Completely crushing Madrid in the first leg.

From what I understand, it means more power to sporting personnel, since they can decide who fits and who doesnt.

Just don't chase Mbappe for years and buy him when you have Vinicius. Thats the entire principle, should be simple enough.

I just think you're projecting here. If it would be a speaking donkey, you'd still take it over Florentino simply to have something else.

I think you still get Mbappe, you just ditch the worse player like you did years ago with Robben when you got Ronaldo. Pretty much the exact same thing would've happened if both would've been on the same team back then.

I would be much happier if Flo named a successor (say, Nadal) and mobilized the madridismo for change.

Just another one of the many mistakes that have begun to multiply and compound and should have anyone with any interest in the club clamoring for change before it's too late - if there was any kind of plan for a Real Madrid post Florention then we would see such planning just as you are asking for.

BUT there's no plan, either short term or long term. THE ONLY PLAN is to absolve Florentino from any responsibility for the current situation for as long as possible and if the situation doesn't magically fix itself - well what does it concern an 80 year old man suffering dementia.

I’m just annoyed this election is going to delay appointing the manager and getting some player movement completed.

While monarchy sounds swell, why would the current monarch mobilize for change against himself?

Just as I said the other day, if Nadal was a candidate, there would have been none of this sudden analytical spirit of macroeconomics and organizational management that took over since Flo's throne got a bit wobbly.

Youre interested in football right now and youre calling yourself a Real Madrid fan? How dare you? You should go cheer for another club and leave Madrid to those who are into the insitutional culture. Right @4x4s? :)
