The club has done the same thing they are doing any other time as well. It's just that you don't always win, but Florentino being megalomaniacal isn't some recent event or turn of character. His obsession with theme parks was borderline comical but coming from construction, you can understand that his view is that they have to build build build.
I am currently not happy with the work Florentino is doing, BUT to criticize him for the comments about the media, RMTV and Negreira is insane. If there is a fan of Real Madrid who did not clearly saw it with his eyes - how the referees were robbing us through the years and how media is trying to manipulate the masses that we are the one robbing, so this fan is not very clever to say at least. Even more, my main problem with Florentino is why he let that happen? He should have defended the club earlier, everybody was seeing what is happening
If Florentino would have proof of manipulated games and decisions he would have used them to get justice, and by doing so help the entire sport. On the contrary the clubs seems content with keeping this looming over everything because they can break it out as an excuse in case of emergency when they lose "yeah, i would've won this title, but the referee". That's why the club's stance on the matter isn't really generating any traction with anybody else. Florentino is saying that every single title belongs to HIM, they took titles away from HIM. Doesn't care about justice, just cares about using this as an excuse and an anti Barca poking stick.
So documents that shows Barca paying Negreira millions for years, plus tons of videos of Clasicos (and not only) with clearly wrong decisions in their favor are not a proof? The problem as Florentino said is that there are a lot of proofs and nothing is being done about that. Thats why he described it as the biggest corruption scandal in football
So in other words, they are going to "release the Kraken" in 1-2 weeks? Yeesh, these Trump parallels don't stop.
This is what I want to hear. Proactive movements and not only talk. I believe it was @Zidane05 who said it but this was really a good interview minus a few dips here and there. At least the man is consistent. At least he isn’t a flip flopped or changes his rationale or line of thinking like the media and fans who (unless they're anti's) don't know right from left because they keep changing their positions. Now let him follow through and provide whatever evidence, etc so we can properly bring about change to how things are done in La Liga.
If he actually releases something of value what would you say then? The reality as well is even if he did.. heck even if we had video proof of each deal, meeting and bad action the media and some would still deny it.
I think Perez's time has come, but one thing I have NEVER understood is fans complaining about him being penny-pinching and not spending enough. Like of all presidents of all clubs in all of history, you think Florentino M'Fing Perez has a tendency to underspend on player transfers when the club can readily afford it? Whenever fans say that, they really need to take a step back and think about that complaint.
Then I'll applaud him and admit he was right, while presumably watching Barcelona be severely punished. We'll see. The only stance I'm tethered to is the future success of the Real Madrid.
Well one of those things will occur. We would applaud him. The other thing? They will never be severely punished and they will use useful idiots in the media and fanbases to use conspiracy snd other nonsense to rationalize (as they already have been doing) the very obvious transgressions. In reality how can you even adequately punish them for the extensive damage?
He has to be the biggest idiot on the planet if he has substantial proof of game manipulation and hasn't submitted it yet. the truth is he doesn't. All he has is, "well in my opinion this should have been a penalty", which is fine but not proof of a rigged game. Just a referee decision that didn't please his majesty.
^^^^^ edit: There will be a bit more than that, but I agree it's unlikely to be some devastating, undeniable proof of bribery. Then what is even the point? Surely we have much bigger priorities. I mean, go ahead and release what you have, but if you're not expecting anything to come of it, why even make a big deal out of it?
Here's what going to happen: He's going to tease this HUGE PROOF, but only after the elections, because the club comes first, so if you want this super secret file to be submitted to the case, you have to vote for him, and after he wins it will be that completely ridiculous RMTV stuff and not much else. Laced with a comment "now the truth is out there". You have to laugh at how telegraphed the strategy is. Where have I seen that before?
For me the principal of it. The truth has to be worth something in a day in age when people and media are just agenda driven gaslighters. This forum used to be a place for discussion even with some many disagreements. Now? This shithole is nothing but a gaslighting space where people care more to rage bait and post then to have any kind of balanced discussion
I guess it's the stubborness not to spend in January despite multiple ACL injuries. Like seeing him defend last season saying why aren't people counting Intercontinental Cup and Super Cup. Maybe we'd have had an opportunity to win at least a CDR if they could sign some defenders rather than have LV be the starting RB.
If Carlo succesfully won the requisite silverware then why was he terminated? Those trophies only count for Flo and Mbappe nut huggers but not everybody. I can see how Xabi was on such short leash, he'd won as many trophies in his career as Carlo does in a down year. Basically have to fire Xabi midseason for any little mistake if you fired the previous coach for winning "too much". But man what a guy that Carlo is, he always lands on his feet. Fired for winning too much, I think I'll take that gig managing Brazil team where with Messi on the verge of retirement titles will be gauranteed and I will get a "beach day", once a week year round.
What no! You are just like me. That wasn't in reference to a specific person just what the forum has become.
Sometimes it's better to suffer then surrender to enemy - i am fine with Perez as long as we are financially sound , for immediate relief, we should not undermine the long-term growth of realmadrid
