This presser is a real moment of weakness for the club. That this happened right after losing to Barca and handing them the league title is just making the optics that much worse. First, Florentino basically said "you can't expect to win all the time" - which is why he sacked three coaches in a year. Makes sense. Then he aggressively shifted the focus to external enemies & called them out for their cowardly tactics. Once again, it's almost like if you're unhappy with the way the club has been managed lately, it means you're the enemy. First of all, yes the Negreira scandal is an unresolved stain on the Spanish football and it's unconceivable that it's not pursued legaly in a much more aggressive way. And yes, there is certainly an element of a media witch hunt surrounding the club lately. But this presser was a transparent attempt to yet again direct the fans' anger towards outside enemies, so as to avoid having the finger pointed at himself and his board. Because he knows what's coming in two days against Oviedo. The fact he'd run a re-election is basically a message to the socios saying: "You can be angry all you want, but even if I give you a re-election there is not one single candidate that you can put forth. So you might as well give up the booing and the white handkerchiefs." Truly disappointing from our second best president of all time. He's achieved so many incredible things, yet he seems to have really turned into an old man jealously clutching to power, attacking anyone who dares to criticise him. If only he didn't see enemies everywhere, perhaps he could still turn this ship around in time to retire with dignity. At least it's perfectly clear why Mourinho is his next man for the job.
Perez is also trying to shift the spotlight and preempt the boos and white handkerchiefs that could rain down in the next home game against Oviedo.
There has to be a better candidate for RM's sake. Riquelme proved to be a silly clown when he opened his mouth on the eve of Liverpool vs RM tie in 2021 dissing Zidane and lying that he has an agreement with Klopp to be RM coach if he wins the election. Disappeared when no one bought his lie. He will be worse than current version of Florentino.
The candidate who can convince Klopp to come out of retirement is my candidate. Because if they can convince Klopp to join the circus it means Klopp trusts them enough to right the ship.
What the hell was that... one of the weirdest conference ever. Just horrible... the main message clear - we are amazing, everything fine, some vodoo or Gods/or entire world agains us, but we are perfect.. pathetic. So basically Perez just said that nothing will change next season, nothing. What happening.
I've said it on numerous occasions about Perez going senile and I'm surprised not more people are questioning his mental faculties. Seriously.
The worst part of the conference was the misogyny honestly. We didn't need that out in the open. It's bad enough that Real Madrid femenino gets wrecked by Barca F each year. But to hear the president openly announce his bias in a press conference is quite embarrassing for the club.
You can say what you want about el presi. I'm glad he got rid of the ultras. That took some balls. Bet they joined pathetico Madrid fan club immediately.
It was all fun and games when those media outlets relentlessly attacked Zidane and Alonso. But the moment he and his spoiled "children" face even mild criticism, he spirals into a senile meltdown. Quite clownish encore to cap off a disastrous season.

You always hate to see it when a legend loses his marbles but Father Time is undefeated and it became clear years ago that Perez wasn’t fit for the role anymore. Dude presides over a total clown show at a time when we were primed to dominate because he has completely lost touch with reality. It will all get much much worse before it gets any better. He’ll destroy much of what he’s built by the time he’s finally gone but thankfully they can’t take away the trophies.
Flo is an absolute legend at this club, but the man is 80 years old and clearly mentally unwell here. Not the same sharp, cunning, articulate man we've seen in the press. This is a total reflection of the club the past two years or so. I've said it before, it all starts at the top. I can't begin to imagine the enablers and people who have been in Perez's ear.
I think the first sign was him going on El Chiringuito Show which was a very questionable decision. It was actually perplexing. He has lost touch of reality. He is 79, so we shouldn't be that surprised. He is actually very similar to a relative of mind who is basically the same age and also a multi-millionaire construction mogul. The family had to force him into retirement because he had no filter anymore and was running around like society's rules don't apply to him anymore. My relatives have to pay off an engregious number of parking tickets each month for him because he literally parks his car wherever he pleases. Just like Floro, he just repeats his greatist hits to whoever will listen as if that gives him carte blanche to do whatever he wants now.
Man, where I live Flo was always shown like the football "Godfather" doing whatever he wants. As for the new elections, Flo knows no one will run against him again given the money and structure involved.
