Anyone with ounce of foresight can see the reality of the current team; we don't have the same quality nor discipline of past winning teams. We lack a true leader who can lead the team instead of promoting their poor behavior. A lot of our key players are more than happy to collect their paycheck for mediocre effort. It's like the 'quiet quitting' tread found in the corporate World.

True fans understand we need major reinforcement and removal of deadweights; we are overrated and it's shown time and time again like against City, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc.

Then respond genius. Why was he brought in?

If a non Spanish guy has to win the elections, will have to be someone with the stature of ZZ. I remember reading Marca top comments when Spain, Portugal, Morocco won World Cup bid and most were bashing Morocco for "infiltrating" Iberian World Cup. Even clueless that African countries vote was important for the bid's success.

This guy will not run against Floro, he is basically one of Floro's people but with no official designation in the club. Some have described him as Floro's right hand.

He would be running in place of Floro.

Yea. He'd run instead of Florentino rather than against. But if Florentino is calling early election in 2028 after 3 poor seasons, his aides will be unpopular too.

Our next president after FloPe dies will be Rafa Nadal.

Too early I feel but he is my preferred president taking us into a new, modern era of football.

He has numerous successful business ventures, a world sporting icon, Madridista and is easily able to put up funds and criteria. Seems to have a great team around him too.

Funny thing is, Perez loves him too.

Classy personality, great winner and adored by Madridistas. Easy win if he decides to contest.

Absolutely. He has it in the bag when he decides to run.

A great, classy guy as you say which was transparent on the tennis court. Literally a born winner with a never say die.

If Flo is president for life like Bernabeu was, he should leave the club socio owned like Bernabeu did rather than bringing in owners who will try to grab more power once he's done.

General assembly has to pass such changes so hope they are smart about it and block such moves.

Does the general assembly those older cronies on the board?

Don't even know why the fans boo Perez. That guy's skin has more layers than an onion. They are just wasting their breath.

He'll arguably go down as the best president in our history. I have huge respect for him.

The board only changes if a new presidential candidate wins the election. If the incumbent president runs unopposed (as Florentino Pérez has in the last several elections: 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021, and 2025), they are automatically re-elected for a new four-year term, and the existing board continues.

The board members are appointed by the president, and their term is tied to that of the president. Therefore, a change in the presidency is what necessitates a new board, not the mere calling of an election.

Of course he will. That’s never in doubt but at the same time, everyone has there day and sometimes there needs to be a change at the top.

This is not about some defeats, it’s a multitude of things that have boiled to this point. He still has time to change his ways / direction but will he? Doubt it.

I doubt he will unless someone replaces JAS who has been given a bigger role/voice. I am pretty sure Perez has delegated alot of the tasks to JAS. Perez is a shrewd businessman, the fact that our club was functioning without a problem during and post-covid is largely down to him. I'd like for him to surround himself with better advisers and for someone like Nadal to be his protege for a while before I am comfortable seeing him walk away from his position.

Which is funny because i know people that live in Madrid and have been fans since they were little that have so much against the club that doesn't even have anything to do with the team.

I disagree with the Nadal thing. I’d like Nadal to be completely free and fresh and away from picking up any bad habits from Perez / his advisers.

I’d like Nadal to be his own person because he’s a great guy.

I agree, Nadal is a great guy but he'd be coming in without experience and thats a huge red flag for me. Perez has seen it all, nothing will surprise him and he has huge business acumen which we've been able to take advantage of.

I doubt we will ever be able to replace him and what he has done for us. It isn't just the team's success that he has been able to influence positively it's everything about the club both on and off the pitch.

He’s also had a lot of freedom to make changes, running unopposed for years. The new Bernabeu and the three peat team will be his greatest legacy - the new stadium really is something extraordinary in person.

I personally feel the club needs a new direction primarily focused on the sporting side now.

Nadal has numerous businesses he’s started up and that have been successful - he’ll have his own team with him that will advise him as they’ve done throughout his career. He defo won’t be on his own and he’ll have other experience in key areas around him but he’ll definitely be the face of the club.

Disagree. He’s said in the past it will be a dream but not something he wants yet. When you see him in interviews talking about the prospect, he’s really coy and doesn’t give too much away.

I can absolutely see him running for it at some point.

Why would you suggest it to be any different now? Our model is very much the same as Bayern's for example. The Real Madrid business and sporting parts are largely split anyway.

I don't really see a reason for him to do it. Florentino failed in politics and then went for the second highest seat he could find.

I just don't see the motivation for Nadal to have this seat.
