His dip in performance and outcome won't help, not to mention Grealish is British and that will always markup the value.
With his dip in performance and outcome this year, I would say 70-80 will be a good fee for Rodrigo.
I don't know what (if) formation Alonso would use next year, but I hope the club will talk with Alonso whether to keep Rodrygo as backup to Vini.

That doesn't mean anything. So your assertion that he wasn't signed because he was Sergio Ramos means jack diddly because the club didn't sign anyone full stop.

He just played a match against James, another player with a certain set of specific skills the team was desperately lacking and the club would have done well to fill those voids and provide the manager enough options that a successful season could be reasonably expected.

Instead we get the the this is the best team in the world and Mbappe can play anywhere speech (with the complete Mbappe rebuttal of I prefer to play on the left wing).

It was tongue in cheeck but on the other hand the club didn't make any moves when anyone with a functioning eyes and a brain could see that the team needed at least a couple of pieces if it wanted to compete for trophies.

The team basically didn't have any starting caliber players on defense the second half of the season apart from Rudiger, had no substitutes and was relying on midfielders to play our of position.

The clubs ideas was do nothing because they needed to save some money so Florentino can get his picture taken with Trent Arnold Alexander this summer.... oh, but don't worry we'll just blame it all on Carlo Ancelotti.

The last time Florentino Perez signed a Center back for a transfer fee:
•Lamine Yamal was 12 years old
    •Real Madrid had 13 UCLs
    •Mbappe was 20 years old
•Khabib was still active in UFC
•Queen Elizabeth, Pele and Maradona were all alive
    • Bartomeu was still Barca president

Soooooo............ as hard as its gonna be. It might be time.

I like to think i am very patient with the club as i know its etremely difficult to be on the top in world football for longer than a couple of years. The era of decade long domination in all leagues is over (Well Germany not so much maybe) BUT there's been too many decisions i've had to cringe at over the last 2 years. Far too many.

At the same time i have a huge fear of what might happen if the reins are handed over to a clown which can easily be the case. Football economy is delicate and the wrong direction sets you back a long long time.

I think he’s been concentrating on the financial rather than the sporting for a while now. Navigating Covid and the stadium etc.

The Superleague was his only major mis-step. Maybe the signing of Hazard and Trent too, but the other transfers that don’t work out don’t have his fingerprint on them.

I was disappointed as hell he couldn’t make Zidane work out for longer, less so about Xabi but do feel he could have done better with that situation, but I still think he is the best football executive in the business right now.

I would see how he navigates the Vinicius issue and the manager/squad issue over the summer. If thinks are still the same at the end of next season I would be thinking about the succession, but at the moment I am still not convinced that him leaving would be a good thing.

Nah... only if he doesn't hear the demand and ignores it. He is literally our best and while old if he regains the focus this ship can be back on course.

The one thing I am heavily against is JAS as a successor. Can't wait for that guy to be a spectator and not the key decision-maker

The main worry about a new presi is will he be able to maintain the financial stability that Flo has built?

We don't want another Calderon circus.

Florentino will be 82 when current tenure ends in 2029. We need to win La Liga next season probably for him to stay till then.

I read Zidane's paternal grand parents are from Spain and he has been living in Madrid since 2001. He could easily get Spanish citizenship if he wants which is a criteria to contest in RM presidential election.

I want next RM president to be non corrupt, have integrity, someone who loves the club with competitive drive. Calderon stole from the club and Sanz had corruption allegations against him as well. Don't need such people running the club which could soon end up in financial disaster.

Club needs to be successful on the field while being selfish sustainable financially. Zidane or Nadal will win the elections easily if they are interested when the time comes. Zidane showed money is not main priority for him with early retirement in 2006 leaving millions on the table with a contract until 2007.

I’d love for Zidane to become president but I don’t see him wanting that type of role.

Nadal would be good too, especially since he’s connected to the marketing world, but also loves the club.

I was reading last week how Enrique Riquelme (32 at the time) was close to running for president. He would be 37/38 now??

He owns his own energy company and seems to want to do it but maybe a bit soon given his age unless he has the right people around him.

Real Madrid legends support the businessmen aspiring to Florentino's chair

Real Madrid - La Liga: Who is Enrique Riquelme, the businessman who could run against Florentino Perez? | Marca

My personal choice would be Nadal - I think he'd be perfect considering his business ventures currently and a sporting icon. I think he wants it later in life though, not just yet

I don't think there's going to be a stadium wide call for Florentino to resign, but there will be some loud voices.

The problem is Florentino has his fingers in so many financial deals of the club he's practically wrapped around this entire brand for better or worse.

This guy became a joke after dissing Zidane on the eve of RM vs Liverpool game in 2021 and proclaimed he'd bring in Klopp if he wins the election. Everyone knew no chance of Klopp coming either. RM beat Pool 3-1 and he backed out few days later.

People want to see a sacrifice now and be loud. As if that will change something. Going to pay a premium just to be at a garbage game and booh. Funny.
