"Posted on - 29 May 2003 at 18:25 PM Lazio striker Claudio Lopez has started legal proceedings against the club over unpaid wages. The Argentine decided to take the step after not receiving any of his salary since last November. The move now gives the capital giants just 20 days, until June 17, to pay what they owe or see the player released from his contract. That means that Lopez would be a free agent and the Italian giants would not receive a transfer fee for the ace who is expected to be sold this summer. It is believed that the international is due around £1.3m from the club who have been battling to balance their books for the last year. Speculation in recent weeks had suggested that Lopez has agreed to move back to Valencia at the end of this season after refusing to accept a new salary reduced Olimpico contract. Football Italia" http://www.lazioworld.net/news/EpVukFkZVAvOpGUVTi.html Man, WTF! I cant believe this! But it was obvious that it would come to this. Especially when Lopez said "when a man works, he should be paid" back in November or something. Oh well...
He fully deserves his pay, if Lazio can't pay up then too bad for them. Lazio is a sinking ship and next season doesn't look so great. Cragnoni is terrible when it comes to magaging the team financially. Laziale better hope a nice buyer comes along to save your team.
Cragnotti is long gone...Luca Baraldi is in charge and they've gotten almost the entire squad to take drastic wage cuts to help the finances...and a new owner is rumored to be in place... don't worry about Lazio next year... I have no problems with Lopez, though it shows that he doesn't care about the club...
1) We'll show you sinking ship after we smack you in your own home again 2) Cragnotti has been long gone for like half a year. 3) Lazio still have a decent midfield so that is one part of the field they need not worry about. Just the defense (and maybe 1 purchase for the attacking line) needs the shinning which we can and will do. 4) Baraldi and Lungo have set out the financial plan which seems to be going good so far and the players are up to it. So we'll be out of the mess sooner or later.
