Apparently Cannon had one of QPR's best chances, but put it wide. Millwall have now added a second and this is probably over.
Gave up a goal in stoppage time of both halves. Ugh. Millwall 2-0 QPR. FT. Back at it Friday away to 2nd place Ipswich, then Monday at home to Cardiff.
A heavily rotated side has Cannon on the bench. With points in the league the only crucial matter, not a surprise to see many regulars given a rest for this cup match against a Prem side.
Not just an EPL side, but a good one as well. A seriously struggling side - 1 point from the last 5 games - with an unbalanced/poor squad, a new coach and very little money up against an in-form Premier League side that's eased away from their own relegation struggles and is eyeing a good Cup run to energize the club? There's only one strategy the coach is going to adopt.
Bournemouth have rested a few players as well, giving starts to the likes of Mark Travers and Keifer Moore. Generally, a few of the players involved in last season's promotion push get starts They'll ease away from QPR mow that they've started to bring the first-choice players on
In one of those legendary cup games where both clubs try to lose to focus on the league, QPR got lucky and lost. Reggie DNP.
Good for Cannon that he believes that. I don't see where he fits into the national team at all, barring a change of philosophy.
Cannon started today and went the full distance as hapless QPR (T-22nd of 24) lost 1-2 at home to middling Watford (T-12th). Perhaps QPR were unfortunate, based on the stats. Possession was about even, but shots were in QPR’s favor, 14(7) to 4(2), generating 6 saves for the Watford keeper and 0 for QPR.
After 27 games, QPR taken a mere 21 points or 0.78 points per game, leaving them 5 points from safety having won just 5 games all season. They sacked the coach 12 games ago, so any new manager bounce is long gone and while things did improve initially - they won 3 in a row and took 10 points in his first 5 games - it's gone pear-shaped since and they've taken only 2 points from the last 7 games. Better enjoy Reggie's spell in the Championship because, unless he's rescued by a summer transfer, he's going to be playing League 1 football next season.
I was the only one who gave you all a tip about moving to another club "with some issues". 1 day before the national press reported it, 2 days before your wannabe press reported it. I mean I understand the whole thing about vitriol, but making up fantasies in your head when the person is no longer hanging around because the player is no longer in my team is an easy assessment to make. I very rarely come to this forum, I have no reasons to do so. The salaries issue is a critical problem of this season. But of course you beloved fans of the sport don't follow the news, it always needs to be handed to you on a silver plate due to laziness...oh my mistake, due to convenience. Since you obviously don't check your source or search extensively for more information. It's just better to believe in wtv you want to believe, like the post I quoted. The reason why there are a lot of financial issues going all the way down to its root THIS SEASON is due to the investor wanting to leave the club, the same one who is partly to blame since the first day of his era. Our club president represents the other half of incompetency. I did have mentioned this in my latest posts. Something is about to change in the internal structure in the 5th of February. It remains to be seen how impactful it'll be. The first time it was reported that Boavista was not fulfilling its obligations the months of season of which Cannon left...were all paid up. These are official reports. O-f-f-i-c-i-a-l reports. You can't make this up since there are bank transfers associated to them. So the previous season everything was paid up on time. Transfer bans are not salaries. You keep mixing up both and you keep pretending that Cannon gives a damn about it. Why would he? How does that affect his playtime if there's no legal way to revert the transfer? Cannon left because: - our investor ********ed up his position at Lille, Cannon was promised to go there after the 1st season. - our investor then new bought Bordeaux, Cannon was promised to go there. Do you know why he didn't that season? Disciplinary reasons as a punishment due to his behavior in the pre season by moving to England without telling anyone. He fired his agent and then moved back and apologised to the club but the damage was done. - Next season, Bordeaux is relegated to the 2nd league (again, investor's management is absolutely terrible). Cannon is stuck in Boavista as none of the pre-season deals were good enough. Through all of this, there are also 2 other unprofessional bursts of his about forcing a move out. The funny thing is that there are QPR dudes - not the press or anyone else at that time - clearly stating that Boavista and QPR were negotiating Cannon's transfer or some sort of payout fee as a compensation. Many days after the medical exams is when Cannon is finally presented as a QPR player. Even the fact that no one wanted him for weeks was a clear sign that something wasn't right on his end. Are you all really this stupid? Didn't his stint at Dallas taught you anything about his personality? He's confrontational even if it means "fighting the system". So yeah, I'm absolutely right about what I said, and that makes it particularly funny considering you didn't even point at anything in particular. I came here to check his individual performances in QPR out of curiosity, since they're in relegation. I mean blame Boavista all you want, but there's enough visibility if you're good to move out of the club. Musa last year. Malheiro is a step close out. Bozenik is about to move out too. Cannon didn't make it because he was too greedy, a bit unprofessional and doesn't really excel at anything he does other than tackles and anticipating the opponent. He's average but consistent, a very defensive minded player. I hope he's able to grow his game at QPR. Good luck to him! And good luck to your intelect too, you'll need it to avoid making bitter posts while pounding your chest without specifying the reasons why. You come off as a dumb dumb. Next time back it up, bitter boi.
You wrote that nobody cares about MLS and referred to its business model. What has happened at your club would never happen in MLS. Peace
I read all those words and still don't know when Boavista are gonna take Cannon and QPR to court like the president kept threatening all summer, any update on that? Because if Reggie walked out on his contract due to unpaid wages, and there were "o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l reports" that prove Reggie was lying about that, it should be a slam dunk case for a cash-strapped club, right?
