Has anyone out there purchased this yet? I am curious to know whether the cartoons are shown uncut or not. Many of us that grew up with WB cartoons have found that as the years go by, the cartoons that show on TV get diluted and sanitized.

Yeah, I miss the racist potrayals of minorities. :p

The non-inclusion of "What's Opera Doc?" is worse.

Also, I want "Yob Yob Where's My Yob?" - you know the one. :D

I'm assuming these are probably the sanitized versions, which will probably justify me not investing my money in these... I hope they haven't been changed at all though...

    I really do.

I think it's a shame that these cartoons have been buried by Disney. They are important parts of our history. They depict the way people thought at the times. They really need to be released.

Granted, I completely understand why they aren't on something like this, but they really do deserve their own DVD.

Covering them up doesn't do anything but make Disney look bad.

I remember a lot of the cartoons that have been filtered, and a few that I haven't seen in years. But I can't remember "Yob Yob, where's my Yob?" Anyone care to refresh my memory?

Could be it's one that wasn't even being shown anymore when I was a child. The first time I ever saw "Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips" was when I visited Canada one time.

"Rocket Bye Baby" was the name of the cartoon:

Now I DO remember this one. At the end of the movie, the baby's wrist band says Y O B. Certainly this one isn't on the banned list. Maybe it's offensive to Martians? Or did something else about it go completely over my head when I was younger?

    Yeah, my bad.

Both are guilty of covering this stuff up. Stuff that people know very much so exists.

Thanks for fixing that for me.

This site has a good listing of what has been cut out from Warner Brothers cartoons.
