Going with the wife on vacation for the first time to Amsterdam, for end of March til early April! (Totally psyched!) I'm Colombian and I MUST SEE at least 2 of the South American Qualifyers that week -- Here are the games: [21] Uruguay vs. Venezuela [22] Paraguay vs. Brasil *good game [23] Bolivia vs. Chile [24] Argentina vs. Ecuador *good game [25] Perú vs. *Colombia -Must see [26] Ecuador vs. *Colombia -Must see [27] Venezuela vs. Chile [28] Uruguay vs. Perú *good game [29] Brasil vs. Argentina (Match of the Week) [30] Bolivia vs. Paraguay I need 3 recommendations in Amsterdam where you're 100% they'll be showing these matches live. I live in NYC, and usually I have to go to Queens (NYC),pay $20 at the door to watch the games via satellite--I'm sure it's probably the same deal out there!. And last but not least -- Do they show Copa Libertadores (South American Champions League version), usually shown on Fox Sports World on TV -- any South American friendly bars you know of would be awesome! Gracias in Advance
I can't help you with viewing in Holand, but I can point out that the second set of games you listed is not till June 1. The first set will be played March 30.
I think there was a Brasilian cafe/restaurant in Amsterdam that showed the WC games, but those were on free tv so maybe they don't get games that aren't shown on tv (like these matches you listed).
you're right...except that the first set is MArch 30th & 31st -- I'll be going over the Atlantic Ocean ...urrgghh
S. American soccer isn't too big in Amsterdam. Your best bet might be "Satellite Sports Pub". It's right on the "leidseplein" in Amsterdam central! If you're not familiar with the city ask anybody cuz everyone knows the leidseplein. The Satellite Sports Pub is not S.American friendly but if its possible to get a game in Amsterdam they will have it (its the "Nevada Smiths" of Amsterdam, if you will). And they're always happy to put a game on for anyone who walks in and asks. However the timezone difference could be your biggest problem. If the game you wanna see is being played after closing-time, go in earlier and ask them if they could tape it for you and you may be able to watch it on their tape the next day... Hey, could you please tell me the name of that bar in Queens where you can see S.A. qualifying.

Re: Re: Looking for South American Qualifyers in Amsterdam you rock..thanks. In Queens, there is "el Abuelo Gozon' on 79th-80th st and Roosevelt ave. And also "El Capitolio' on 82nd - 83rd st and Roosevelt Ave. (This area used to be dominated by South Americans - predominantly COlombian, Peruvian, Argentinian, Uruguayan about 10-15 years back. There's been a huge influx of Central American and Mexican's in the last 5 years but may of the proprietors are still South American -- And in Manhattan - on 52nd st between 8th and 9th ave- Mamalinda Restaurant.
Re: Re: Re: Looking for South American Qualifyers in Amsterdam Cool thanx. Wow! I only live 5 blocks away from the Mamalinda! Can't wait now 'til the next round of qualifyers later this month!! I assume all this places charge the same $20 cover?!
