Hope someone here can help. It's an early 80s (probably 1983) up-tempo dance club tune, and the only thing I can tell you about it is that it has the words "designer music" and some synthesized "clap" sounds in it. Female vocalist. I need to know the artist(s). Thanks in advance.
This it? I downloaded it on Kazaa and it sounds just like what you're describing. The clap sounds are at the very end. Not really my thing though ... ----------------------------- Song: Designer Music ~~ 1981 ~~ 5:40 Artist: Lipps, Inc. Yeah, that's it. Thanks! Lipps, Inc. would have made sense. FWIW, I'm not a big fan of this type of music in general (ex: I like this tune, but hate Funkytown), but the tune has been stuck in my head for a few weeks, and I never knew who it was, even when it was playing at parties when I was in college. You must try to understand... the pop/rock/R&B of my childhood (70s) has never been equalled, but the music of my late teens (early 80s) was the tradeoff. I still try to archive it whenever possible, tho, because it was a part of my experience.
Interesting where are they now story on Lipps, Inc.: http://www.designstein.com/news_press_tcbm0598.asp
