I'm going to be in Paris the weekend of March 6 and noticed that PSG plays Sochaux that weekend at the Parc des Princes. Can anyone possibly tell me what the best way would be to get my hands on 2 tickets? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks. dcucfc
I just went to see PSG at the Parc on Saturday January 17, 2004 against Metz. I bought my tickets at the PSG Boutique on the Champs Elysees on the Thursday night before the game (the 15th). There were still some good seats available then. However, the game was pretty packed, and close to, but not sold out (in my opinion), so buy them in advance if you get the chance. I'm not sure of capacity but there were 40,000+ at the game. For a list of sites where tickets are sold, look on the PSG site, www.psg.fr. Go to the link for Billetterie on the left hand side. There you will see prices and a seating plan. Click on Pontes de Vente on the right hand side for locations where tickets are sold. I also recommend spending the money to get seats near midfield--the supporters (who are incredible compared to U.S. fans) are in each endzone but the view from there sucks because there is A LOT of empty space behind the goals before getting to the seats. It is not like the EPL games we get in the States where the first row is 20 feet behind the goal. There is a running track around the field and the view along the line is much, much better than from behind the goals (where I watched three games back in '96). The Bleu seats are high enough to see the whole field but not too high either. My seats were 40 Euros (About $55) each near midfield. Good luck! Allez PSG! et Allez les Bleus!
Thanks for the reply Allez_Zizou...very much appreciated! I should have put down that I did a little bit of exploring on the PSG site before posting the message, so I am indeed familiar with the PSG site. My biggest problem is that I don't arrive in Paris until the morning of Sat. 6 March...is there anywhere to purchase tix over the internet? Can tix be had at the ground on the day of the match, or can I still head to the ticket agencies on Sat. mornng?? It is times like this that I wish I spoke French...
You can buy your tickets on click here. Send me an private e-mail and I can help you with this process. Note that you may not be able to buy tickets to the so far in advance but hey if you want to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers this summer a la Parc des Princes, you can buy tickets -- lol. Don't private mail me. I'll explain right now. Actually, if you have additional questions, send me an e-mail. Once you get to the aforementioned page scroll down to the following line "Achetez votre billet en ligne" (Buy your tickets on line is what it means) Click on the link Once you're on the next page click on the link to the match you'd like to buy tickets. The match you want isn't available yet but let's use the PSG/Montpellier match as an example. Click on it and on the next window click on the button titled "Achat de billets" (Means Buy your tickets) Select the location where you'd like to sit and at the lower right click on the drop down for Nombre de places to select the # tickets you'd like. Now as far as which sections you want to sit in, the Boulogne boys et al are located in the K areas. I suggest watching a match from either this area or near it. It's also where the flares will go off and you're not too far from the PSG ultras et al the main thing is that you're far from the visiting supporters. If you want to play it safe and don't mind spending the bucks, you can shoot for seats in the Presidentielle section, it's the same side as the benches and allows you to see the full supporter's show. If you haver any other ??? drop me a line or post them here. I'll may be there for the match against OM in April -- yes it's on my calendar and it depends on how it may effect my trip to Portugal for the Euro 2004 Finals.
you can also call the box office... 0 825 075 078 that is what i did last year... then i picked up the tickets at will call. they were very helpful.
Fonsos, thanks for the assist on the internet tix. I think I can just make sense of what they ask for...if not, I'll e-mail. Fidlerre, does the PSG ticket office speak English?? I speak Portuguese, but not French... Thanks again for the assists! dcucfc
Ok, I made my purchase of PSG-Sochaux tickets for 6 March via the internet, received my confirmation, and all seems to be set...however, at the bottom of the confirmation page, is the following. Can someone please tell me what it means?? I haven't a clue, and don't want to miss something important. ATTENTION : Le choix du mode d'expédition des billets "en personne à la salle" impliquera le retrait des places à l'entrée principale du Parc des Princes (côté tribune présidentielle). Any assistance from a PSG supporter would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait for the match! dcucfc
"ATTENTION : Le choix du mode d'expédition des billets "en personne à la salle" impliquera le retrait des places à l'entrée principale du Parc des Princes (côté tribune présidentielle)." This means you chose to pick up the tickets in person, you can do so at the main entrance of the stadium. The main entrance is on the side of the presidential entrance (where the rich people sit). Out of curiosity, can you let us know where your seats are dcucfc?
Papa, Our tix are: Section PRESID. "THOMSON" B BLEU BAS, 1-13 à 1-12. They looked like decent seats, but you never really can tell from the seat maps online. Thanks for the info on having to pick-up the tickets at will call. I figured that might be what it was....but I didn't think that I would have to pay 10 Euro for the privilege of doing so. (my choice of method of delivery was "Hors France Recommandé") There was also a 5 Euro option (France Recommandé)...can't imagine what that would have been. Will you be at the match Papa? dcucfc
Those are good seats, the height is perfect for a good view, you'll be a little on the side though. I don't know about the fees because I buy my tix at the PSG shop, but there's always a processing fee for online purchases. if you have other concerns let us know or PM me, just make sure they don't ship them out to you at home if you won't be in the country. I won't be at the match as I don't live in Paris no more, but the family has a studio there so I usually go to 2-3 games a year. I think you'll enjoy yourself, as there's usually a good atmosphere at the PDP (coming from the ultras in both endzones), plus the team is winning like there's no tomorow and since Vahid took over the quality of play has gone from very poor to acceptable. You'll be sitting near the press and important people by the way.
Just returned from Paris, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the PSG-Sochaux match. I had a little problem with the tickets though...even though the e-mail told me to pick the tickets up at the PDP, they ended up being mailed. (I did not know this and I didn't get them before I left) So, when I ended up going to the box office at the PDP, there were no tickets. After 20 mins of searching, the box office was nice enough to print off two more tix for me. A big thumbs up to them (and the incredibly hot woman who helped me!) Brilliant atmosphere inside the ground. The Ultras were in good voice and seemed to bring lots of life the the crowd. Have to admit that the first half was a bit sloppy...passing wasn't too sharp, and that resulted in the ball being knocked about for large periods of time. PSG did have the majority of the possession, though Sochaux went close a couple of times. Second half was much better...the penalty was clear as day (happened right in front of me)...and was well taken by Pauleta. It was a bit distressing to see Sochaux be able to go straight back down the field and level the score, though. The rest of the second half was entertaining, but the score fairly reflected the play on the day. Overall, a great time! I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Thanks once again to everyone for the assistance. dcucfc
Glad to hear you had a good time, the fans were in fine voice, probably the loudest I've heard em all year...Good thing they printed you some tix.
I will be in Paris late March/early April and will be at the PSG-Nantes match. Anyone else going to that? dcu--or anyone else for that matter--any advice or thoughts that you haven't already mentioned? Here's hoping my tickets arrive by mail in time! TIA
Here's some advice... If you purchased your tickets over the internet, make sure to take the e-mail confirmation with you when you go if the tickets don't appear in your mailbox in time. Mine did not arrive until I had left for France, even though the e-mail told me to pick them up at the ground (17 days for a letter from France to the US...unreal) That way you can go to the box office, act like you are picking them up, and when they don't find the tickets, they will likely print up tickets for you on the spot...but only after many nervous minutes. You'll enjoy it. I'll be back next time I happen to go to Paris. dcucfc
DC, thanks, I actually had your experience in mind when I ordered my tickets on the PSG website and I went with the mail option for delivery. Seventeen days cuts it close but they'll make it in time if they take that long. I did save the e-mail conformation and put it with my passport, etc. so I will take it with me if my tickets do not arrive. I've also had some contact with TicketCliq who have assured me the tickets will arrive prior to my departure. Thanks for the info.
Its shaping up like the PSG Lyon match May15th, may shape up to be highly significant. I'm planning on getting to that one...
