I'm currently working on creating the logo for the Reading SoB chapter and supporter group for the Reading United AC. I would like to use a Ben Franklin cartoon-like character for the main theme of the logo. About a year or so ago someone had an avatar with a cartoon Ben Franklin in a soccer uniform and cleats dribbling a soccer ball. This caricature expression of Ben Franklin would be perfect to use and modify for our logo.

I believe that it was one of the elders who had this picture as an avatar and I am trying to track that person or people down to see if they still have the file and if I could use it. I am in a bit of a time restraint because I need to get the logo finished by next week so that I can get it to the Reading United AC GM so that they can start printing up swag.

Any help in tracking down this Ben Franklin file would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

We could also use some help in finding any Ben Franklin cartoon if the one we are looking for is not available. If you know of any good cartoons of Ben Franklin please post them here or PM them to me or my brother (Lorax Jr.) We have a really tight deadline at this point and we would like to meet it if at all possible so any help would be greatly appreciated. If we miss this deadline we will be losing a great opportunity to get some swag made prior to the start of the Reading Untied AC season as well as a chance to save some money as we are already digging into our own pockets to get this done.

Hey! That's one of my costumes that I made for Franklin and Marshall!!!!

I'd be happy to draw up a supporters logo for the Reading team, please PM me, I'll do this for free, and maybe I can talk to Franklin & Marshall about having Ben show up at a match or two. Email me and let me know what you'd like to see in the logo, the new RUFC logo is pretty complicated but we could add a few of their details as well.

Yep, Lancaster.... closer to Ephrata though. I made the Toro costume, both times in fact! Have plenty of soccer experience... was even on the 1994 World Cup mascot team in the DC venue.

We've been to a few Rage games before we had kids, now I think the tykes are old enough to enjoy it, so the Union is setting us on fire, and with the City Islanders and Reading teams as affiliates we sit in a precipitous soccer triangle!

Still interested in the logo? I even have a professional graphics designer as part of my mascot company whom I can easily get to trim up any layers.

Welcome to the boards, hope to see you around, I'm sure Lorax will be interested in the free artwork!
Ric, do you still want the SoB font, or are you going with something different?

If Lorax wants to work together, maybe we can do a primary and secondary logo set together since the United logo has so many elements to it.

First edition... the idea was to bring the SoB's and the Reading UAC logos together and keep it really basic. Thoughts? Do we want to put Ben in there?[IMG]

Just for the record we cannot include any Jolly Franklins in the logo. The elders have asked us to not include it.

It's for the Reading Chapter, combined support with Real Reading United AC City Wanderers FC....and the more I look at it, the more the "R" looks out of place. Maybe drop it & put "Reading Loco" across the top & bottom?
