I think something would have to be done about that center patch and get rid of the white stripe in there. White isn't one of our colors, but silver is, which might look decent. However, as it currently stands, I would not want to have this as one of our kits.
do we really want to imitate the metros? and what's up with that lightning bolt just below the tag? what's really disturbing is someone's gonna pay $13 for the cereal bowl.
I'm sort of intrigued as to where this thing was made. If it's made in NW Ohio, maybe they'd be able to make some better-looking knockoffs for us for cheap... Also, when someone writes "NW Ohio", it usually means they're from a small town like Kenton or Ada and don't bother writing it, for no one would know where that is...
Is that why you went to Chicago -- for the town name recognition. Also, the real jersey manufacturers should take a page from their book and stock other jerseys in a XXL. Remember, there ARE fat soccer fans!!
Chris, you shouldn't spend so much time haunting eBay. Not a healthy thing. If you're really determined, at least look at things of value, like $500 Giant Cheetos: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2914228248&category=1469 Or "slightly eaten" Breakfast Burritos: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2914060081?1234 That shirt is actually a uniform used by a Central Ohio youth club a few years back. I used to see this team at Tournaments and suchlike. I think this was an Ohio FC team out of Dublin. "Ohio FC Crew" seems to be rattling around my head. (All their teams have a seperate identity, like Ohio FC Arsenal and Ohio FC Comets, etc. instead of having "'85's" and '86's or "Red" and "Blue" like some clubs do) They may or may not still be around. As the kids get older and they lose players they combine the teams.
Good info, Bill. Think they're made somewhere in Ohio, and they had to pay royalties for the logo? And Bill, what youth player would be wearing an adult XXL??!! Talk about eating all the pies.. Also, check with www.mlsnet.com is selling as our 2003 jersey: Obviously, that's not the real thing...but every other team is selling theres now....so you wonder...
hold on, sportingnews fantasy MLS has this as the 2003 Crew jersey: I hope to god they dont make it like that, we're not the rapids!!
Here are the new jerseys for this year. As worn in the games in Portugal and shown by Walsh at the SuperDraft.
i have a feeling (still) that the one with COLUMBUS Crew is this year's cheesy youth knockoff. They should have them in soccer stores in a few weeks, so we'll know then. A call to the Crew office on monday maybe would verify what's right and what's wrong.
That jersey doesn't look that bad. Substitute the white stripes for Crew Yellow and you got one of the nicest alternate jerseys in the league!
