Tell you what.....the kid doesn’t look out of place, when he has the ball, against a near top XI from Liverpool. He may me playing a little on instinct but those instincts are pretty good.

It's so hard to tell this early on and the Liverpool lineup is miles away from their top team.

I’ve been impressed by the weight and accuracy of his passes and his touch but for me he doesn’t look there yet physically and looks kind of awkward and gangly but he is only 16 so that’s natural.

It’s not a shitty lineup though. Loads of recognizable names. Better than most starting XI’s.

That's true enough. Fabinho for sure should be first 11.

I'm pretty impressed they took him on tour. He looks a bit disjointed, but that's to be expected. I'd like to see him get some seasoning with the U19 side.

Throw him in the weeds early, show him what it looks like to play top tier. Then send him down and make him earn it. I don’t mind this approach at all

That's probably the plan. His off the ball movement needs some work, again to be expected playing with a new team and system.

i dunno i still say everything about this just reiterates that gio needs to play against grown men to force his soccer brain to develop

TBF there was a lot of talk with Green when he was making his breakthrough like, "Oh, when he fills out/matures he'll add a physical side too." With Reyna most people are surprised by his size and physical tools and see he needs to add polish to his game. I strongly suspect if healthy Reyna has a much higher floor than Green.

Reyna should do just fine. He already has the size and now he should get excellent training and PT with the U19s - perfect set up to develop and move up to the first team in 24 months or so.

Very impressive for a 16 year old. He links very well, moves the ball quickly and has good awareness on the pitch.
