It's almost that time of year again, back to school & on the UT campus back to soccer. The first Longhorn game is a home match against Texas State on Friday, Aug. 10, 7:00PM. See the whole schedule here. There's a new coach in charge this season, and lots of new players. For a very thorough preseason preview, see this post at All White Kit. An excerpt:
This is the girls soccer..right lol. What about the leper boys that play on 51st any news ? Well yes just seen the kit !
If you like the womens' game, U-20 W WC is going on. Maya Hayes hat trick for USA + an own goal that would have been credited to Hayes puts the USA past Ghana 4:0. Live games on ESPNU (1638 HD)
The UT Men's Soccer Club team has a match this Friday, September 28th at 7:00, against Texas State University at Whittaker Field. Eberly's Army is going to head out to cheer on the team (be you a UT or TSU supporter), and enjoy some live footie in the ATX. If Friday doesn't work for you, the Club plays on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. vs. Baylor. All soccer fans are welcome! Bring you lawn chairs!
Don't all the parking lots around there warn people that with a UT parking sticker, you will get towed? Not that that should disuade anybody. They don't seem to take the step and be bunch of A-holes and actually tow cars there. But they have the signs warning people. I wish I could be there, but I have a birthday dinner to attend. Damn. I'd rather play soccer.
The final home game of the season for the UT Men's Soccer Club is tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. at Whitaker Fields. They'll take on Texas A&M for the Conference Championship, as both teams come into the match undefeated in Conference play. Admission is free, parking is free (no CplDaniel, no worries about being towed/ticketed). They've got bleachers that you can sit on, but lawnchairs are also welcome. If you can make it, be sure to come out. I saw them play Texas State and win impressively. Bring a soda if you want, but leave the bikes and dogs at home as they're not allowed on the fields.
