Hi all, I realize the chances of anyone having info on this are very low, but I'm in Zurich and would like to find the best (i.e., most Portuguese-friendly) place to watch the game. Anyone out there know of such a venue where Portuguese expats (if any) gather in Z-burg? I'm especially eager to find a good spot because I think the standard places to watch outdoors will be dominated by people rooting for Brazil (who are always popular among neutrals). Obrigado!
Typical American looking to score in the last minute. I'm trying to think if we have any Swissies here, but there's none coming to mind. This came up via a google search, might be worth a shot: Switzerland -> Zurich Henne (dono: Fernando Almeida) Schwamendingerstrass 16, 8050 Zurich-Oerlikon Tel: (1) 311 8038
Well call ahead to make certain. I'm looking into it a little more. I found a Portuguese Club in Dielsdorf if that helps... (Thank God my German is still good!)
Aveirenses: don't hate a brother for this, but I just ended up watching the game here at the student union. Versus spain is going to be a much bigger deal so I might trek out to a friendly spot for that. Benficafan3: Yeah, I've sort of been on hiatus from the boards. Work and travel, blah blah blah. But this WC has gotten be back into it so I'll probably be hanging around a bit more these days. Unrelated, there is some pretty good portugal garb available here in Zuerich, which is kind of surprising. There's a shirt that says "I love portugal" that I'm going to get & wear to the Spain game.
There is a tent right behind Zurich HB (just ask someone there) that would be filled with fans from both teams and imo is probably the best place if you want a stadium like atmosphere. Never been to any of the clubs mentioned above but I wouldn't be counting on them to be Portugese necessarily.
It is Zurich , the supposed Australian and Irish bars are not what they advertise for instance. I would cut down on unnecessary sarcasm if I were you.
anyone know of any place i could watch the spain game in rome tomorow night? I could probably find a place with lots of spanish people but I'm looking for a Portuguese place and can't seem to find any..
