Hi All, I'm looking for information that anyone may have on local leagues on Long Island that someone could get into. Anyone have a link or a name or some other information? Peace to all you soccer lovers!!!
I think the biggest mens league on LI is the Long Island Soccer Football League, www.lisfl.org. It used to have three divisions of mens open teams and two divisions of over-30 teams. There's also the Suffolk Mens Over-30 league, www.geocities.com/suffolkmenssoccer/ Two divisions, over-30 only, Suffolk County teams only.
I just noticed that you posted this in the USL forum, so I may have misunderstood you. If you're looking for very high level amateur/semi-pro soccer, like what the USL offers, then LI has the Rough Riders who play in the USL's Pro-Select League. There's also a team in the same league that plays at St. John's University in Queens, I think that's the NY Freedom. I'm sure if you go to the USL's website you can get more info on those teams. Regarding the LISFL and the Suffolk Mens O-30 League, I'm pretty familiar with both. Are they fun? Well, they are if you think playing soccer is fun.
You have just broken your own necrophilia record. Not only did you bump up a 10 year old thread, you did it with a link (of course, nothing else) that has zero to do with the subject of the thread and which is completely and utterly unnecessary. 14 years and you have no idea how Bigsoccer is supposed to work.

Simon Evans More new clubs....in the United States, MLS NEXT Pro today announced the addition of a seventh independent club to the League. The Island F.C. plan to begin playing in 2027 in a new stadium in Uniondale, New York. The club will become the fourth MLS NEXT Pro team in the Tri-State Area and the first on Long Island. The Island F.C. Principal Owner and Chairman Mitchell Rechler and Team President Peter Zaratin plan to build a privately funded, stadium at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, NY. As noted in this week's newsletter - there is a lot going on in MLSNP with Grand Rapids having recently confirmed and with activity going on in San Francisco and elsewhere too. Meanwhile, also at the third tier of the game, United Soccer League (USL) announced yesterday that Port St. Lucie Sports Club would join USL League One in 2027 adding another Florida team to the league this time on the 'Treasure Coast'.
12 years later and he's still doing it in the same thread. Mods keep saying to use the ignore function, but that doesn't keep the forum & thread from being bumped, giving us alerts of something new when it's just another 99.9% unrelated spam post from the same ONE user.
Oh, ignore is happening. But it's gotten worse - now threads that are more than 20 years old are getting bumped for innocuous nonsense. Let me try this tack: people don't come to Bigsoccer for news anymore. The world has changed.
Even if someone does come to BS for news, it's in a general news threads (which exists for USL) and definitely not for MLS Next Pro news in the USL section.
