London Olympic committee says you're only allowed to link to their site if you have nice things to say

Links to the Site. You may create your own link to the Site, provided that your link is in a text-only format. You may not use any link to the Site as a method of creating an unauthorised association between an organisation, business, goods or services and London 2012, and agree that no such link shall portray us or any other official London 2012 organisations (or our or their activities, products or services) in a false, misleading, derogatory or otherwise objectionable manner."

    Oh Really?

Hey London Olympics .. I'm linking to you, I'm linking to you, I'm linking to you... Why are you linking to yourself? Stop linking to yourself.

By the way, in case I forgot to mention this, I am the Official Crime and Punishment of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Oh wait, those are text only links .... Howzabout:

    Want more London 2012 fail?

Restaurants that aren't McDonald's at the London 2012 Olympic Park have been ordered not to serve french fries, SORRY, CHIPS citing "sponsor obligations". Exception? Fries served as part of fish & chips. Not sure if the chips ban at London 2012 applies to cheesy fries, chili fries, sweet potato fries, steak cut fries, Belgian fries or zucchini fries.

Surely the masses will rise up against this tyranny by the London 2012 organizing committee? Nope. "Please do not give the staff grief, this will only lead to us removing fish and chips completely." Got it? No more grief or you lose your fish and chips." Oh no, not the fish and chips!

Do I think they should burn these uniforms because they were made in China?

No. I think they should be burned because they look like shit.

I thought it said they could sell fish and chips?

Anyway, just looking through the items from the Daily Hate-Mail, you can have fish and chips, OK! you miss out on steak and chips.. no biggie IMO, and, who TF eats sausage and chips??? That should be sausage and mash with onion gravy which, presumably, is still OK.

Regarding the various fries you've listed. You can't get most of them over here anyway AFAIK with the possible exception of steak fries which I believe we call crinkle cut chips, (FRIES... FFS!!!), but I'm not sure.

Of course, bear in mind this is only in the Olympic park and, tbh, anyone who travels thousands of miles to the Olympics and only goes to the Olympic Park deserves everything they get including botulism.

If you're coming, get out... see the place. It's one of the worlds great cities.

Well, for the sake of accuracy, it's important to stress the IF in that first bit. If you manage to get through the arrival lounge at Heathrow and don't die of old age with the delays checking your passports, (we're pretty fussy about who we let in y'know), THEN manage to get past any roadworks on the M4, (which was totally blocked until recently due to a crack in a bridge IIRC), and THEN manage to get past the terrorists queuing up because there has been the shortage of security personnel, you'll enjoy the place. :D

Nah, seriously, people who do come will probably have a great time but there are certain problems such as the level of traffic which is bad enough at the best of times. In all honesty if I was going to attend I wouldn't go near London anyway. I'd see the rest of the Country but then, I'm only interested in the football anyway.

Yes, but the LGOC is threatening to take away fish & chips if the complaints persist.

Anyway, I think, based on the article, it's less an issue for the athletes and visitors than the staff who have to stay in the Olympic Village and event venues and have to eat in the cafeteria.

Ah, yeah! Fair point. Don't see it happening though.
It's actually quite a small area though. Even if you're right in the middle of the Olympic Park in London it's only about a km or so to the 'outside world' and I'd imagine most people working in it live close by anyway.

It's an imposition and shouldn't have been allowed but it's hard to see it as THAT much of an issue.

Chinese Olympic hurdler abandons London base to escape cold weather

Gold medallist Liu Xiang, who was due to train in Twickenham, is said to have relocated to Düsseldorf in Germany

The Olympic hurdler Liu Xiang has proved as quick in fleeing poor weather as he is over the hurdles, abandoning his British training camp in London due to the cold, Chinese media have reported.

The gold medallist appears to have done what many in the UK long to do, escaping the British summer in search of sunnier climes – as have other Chinese athletes, his coach claimed.

Liu arrived in London late last week and was due to train at St Mary's University College in Twickenham, where members of the South African, Japanese and Irish teams are also preparing.

But days later he turned around and headed to Germany instead, the Xinmin Evening News reported.
"Due to the low temperatures in London many Chinese athletes and other sports teams have chosen to look for other training bases. Liu Xiang is not the only one," his coach Sun Haiping said, according to the newspaper. It added that St Mary's did not have an inside track.

Man, what a bunch of total weenies you fellas are. Oooh, it's too cold... the bus takes 4 hours to travel 20 miles and I want a wee. Grow a pair, will yer you bunch of pansies.

When it comes to getting host venues in line for their sponsors, the two organizations with the strongest pimp hands are the IOC and FIFA.

(And BTW, Budweiser was the only beer available at the stadiums in Korea and Japan. I know, I checked.)

The food and beer selections at the stadiums in Korea were awful. They encouraged you to get to the stadium two or three hours before game time, you know, because of security and 9/11 and all that, so you show up early, there's no lines for security. So you're there in the stadium with two hours to kill before kickoff. The big video screens are showing the stupid videos with the mascots over and over again, and occasionally that song by Anastacia that they played before every goddamn game. Time for a drink, but there was nothing but Bud on the beer side. The food options were worse -- I think I bought a box of Ritz crackers because that's all I could find at the food stand. I learned my lesson after the Portugal game and didn't go in so early for the other games.
