The european cup was DENTED as jubilant Liverpool footballers celebrated with it. Milan Baros 23, accidentally dropped it on a grand piano at the hotel, damaging the handle. Yesterday the coveted silver trophy was sporting the dent at the clubs anfield mueum. Liverpool get to keep the 3 foot high cup after being crowned champions 5 times, but the are NO plans to get the cup fixed. Museum curator Steve Done said "we decided not to get it repaired because it is now part of the character of the cup. lol
it's our cup we can do what we want with it!!!! Still not as good as some of the Stanley Cup's misadventures....
Yanks FC and I were talking about this today.... since we now OWN the cup, don't LFC, or maybe the FA, have a part in designing the new European Cup? Maybe even complete responsibilty for making the new one? Didn't Brazil, or a Brazillian artist working for the Brazillian FA, design the current World Cup after Brazil won the Jules Rimet trophy for the third time, and retired it? I say either let us into the Champions League next season, or we won't make you a new trophy. Or even better, a little one foot hight piece of crap if they don't let us defend it. Let AC Milan lift a silver trophy the size of a pint of Ale next year.
