How do you lock files/folders on Windows 2000? I was looking at it some but it seemed pretty convoluted and confusing to me? If anyone knows where I can find a easy how-to or can tell me how themselves, I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks.

What do you mean by "lock"? Do you mean user permissions, where you restrict access to certain users or groups of users?

Lock in the sense where you need a password to access file/folder?

Well, that is more complicated. AFAIK, you'll need third-party encryption software, unless the file type in question supports password protection in the application (like most Microsoft apps do, I believe).

If you don't wanna encrypt something... You could make another user and password protect that user, then move the files over to that User.
