Why does the local TV Coverage (KSL) dry up after the regular season? I think it's important to build the fanbase, and the availability of these games would help for those of us who don't have cable (anymore). Is it because the FO hasn't been able to come to contract terms OR is this an FSC exclusive game like the HDnet game in Colorado? Just frustrated since all my streaming Prem games this morning were shut down somewhere in the broadcast...soccer channels getting wise to the streaming? Will this happen again tonight?
I think it comes down to one word: money. It's the same reason so many of the Jazz playoffs were on TNT (or TNN) last year. Local channels can't pay the same amount for the rights as the big companies. That, and I believe FSC bought the rights for the majority of the playoffs games (as did HDNET and Telefutura). But, I could be wrong...
Why are all the KSL games on freaking 5.3 during the season? I really hope we get a better TV deal next season.
I had no problem with KSL 5.3. It came in nice and clear on my rabbit ears and digital converter box.
Dude, anyone in the Utah area can watch KSL 5.3 on their TV. Just get a digital TV, or use a converter with rabbit ears. You better get cracking before February or you won't be able to watch ANY TV.
Uh...I don't care because I have a free 5.3, so will everyone that isn't saying, "What the Hell!? What's with the TV!?", next February.
Not really. Only certain areas in Northern Utah have the LOS to get 5.3 strong enough with rabbit ears.
I have Directv. No need for rabbit ears. Who has rabbit ears nowadays anyway? I guess I'll have to pony up for some ears for next year, but only the diehards can watch cause most people don't have 5.3. Hard to market a product that nobody can see.
Yeah, Comcast 105. It's "normally" KSL Weather 5, but when there is a RSL game, they pre-empt the weather and show the game. Or if you prefer, RSL soccer is normally on the channel and the weather pre-empts RSL soccer.
No - only the road games that were not picked up by FSC/ESPN2/HDnet/etc were broadcast on 5.3. This week's game is on Fox Soccer Channel, HDnet, and FSE (Fox Soccer Espanol?) Besides, your location says SLC. Find a season ticket holder and give them $10 or so to buy you a ticket if the $20 from riotintostadium.com is too much
Oh…I’ve got my tickets. I was just curious how they decided what games they showed on 5.3. Thanks for clarifying.
i think youre missing the point. you dont need to be a diehard to get 5.3. i also have directv, but if you hook rabbit ears up directly up through your tv, and converter box if your tv isnt digital, you can also get 5.3 - free of charge.
