    Basel - Wil 3:1 (2:0)
    Goals: 13. Huggel (Smiljanic) 1:0
    20. Rossi (Cantaluppi) 2:0
    59. Huggel (Tum) 3:0
    73. Lustrinelli (T. Balmer) 3:1.

    Yellow Cards: 4. Duruz
    29. T. Balmer
    43. Bamba
    47. Mangiarratti

This game went pretty much as expected. Basel got the three points, and with the draw of GCZ, creeped very close to the top of LNA.

    Grasshopper - Servette 1:1 (1:1)
    Goals: 22. Nuñez 0:1
    45. P. Diogo 1:1.
    Hardturm, 8'000 Fans
    Yellow Cards: 32. Lombardo
    42. Cravero
    78. Bah
    80. Barijho
    86. Obradovic
This was the biggest result of the weekend. Not only did GCZ loose part of their lead on the top of the table, but Servette keeps their slim hopes alive of a UEFA spot. SwissGCZ what happened? The Hardturm is already sold out for the GCZ-Basel game and this result brings the upcoming game to a heightened state of importance.

    NE Xamax - Thun 1:0 (1:0)
    Goal: 5. M'Futi 1:0.
    Maladière, 5'600 Fans
    Yellow Cards: 55. M. Schneider
    57. Buess
    85. Hodzic

Xamax does just enough to keep pace with YB. This is looking to be a great race for the third spot, along with the top spot. I just wonder how can a team playing as well as Xamax is right now only draw 5.6k to a game?

    Young Boys - Zürich 2:1 (2:0)
    Goals: 26. Rochat 1:0
    40. Petrosyan 2:0
    77. Tarone 2:1.

    Neufeld, 9'000 Fans
    Yellow Cards: 29. Jodice
    32. Gygax
    45. A. Eugster

YB remain in third place with two early goals, then holding off the Zurich charge. The top five teams are starting to distance themselves from the others.

    Standings:
    1. Grasshopper 6 4 2 0 14:5 39 (1)
    2. Basel 6 4 1 1 14:8 37 (2)
    3. Young Boys 6 4 1 1 8:7 28 (7)
    4. NE Xamax 6 3 2 1 9:5 27 (6)
    5. Servette 6 1 4 1 5:6 22 (8)
    6. Thun 6 0 2 4 4:10 18 (3)
    7. Wil 6 0 2 4 4:12 18 (4)
    8. Zürich 6 0 2 4 5:10 18 (5)
The teams need to beat the lower three. Any point given up against the lowest three will be huge. YB/Xamax can not afford to loose to even Servette. Servette is a very long shot. Any point that GCZ and Basel do not get is a huge oppourtunity for the other to capatilize. I know that I am stating the obvious, but it needs to be said.

    Next weeks schedule:
    Basel-YB
    Xamax- GCZ
    Servette-Thun
    Zurich-Wil

Those top two games will be huge. Plus with the teams playing the same teams, but just switching locations, the next two weeks could result in major change on the top. Imagine that YB takes four point in the next two weeks, and GCZ does the same. That gives GCZ 43, Basel 38, YB 32, and Xamax 28. It is possible that Servette could take 6 bringing them up to 28. Along with the Swiss Cup semi's. these next two weeks are huge for the teams.

I wish I knew. This result just completed an all-around miserable weekend for me. There was a reason my headache was the worst on Sunday, and it wasn't just the fever.

    Scheisse, scheisse, scheisse......!
