Good shot from Finnan on the right side from distance. Saved by the TNS's Doughtery.

    HT: LFC 2 - TNS 0

The boys look really good. Passing and movement were very attacking and aggressive. Towards the end, TNS strung together more passes and were able to bring the ball over to our side a bit more.

So far Stevie, Alonso, and JAR are putting in exceptional performances. Morientes got himself some good chances, but seemed to sputter out a bit towards the end of the half.

Very good first half. Great bulid up on the first goal. Morientes left it very nicely for Gerrard who had an easy finish from inside the area. Gerrard's second goal was very well taken. He got in behind the defense and lobbed the ball over the keeper.

The highlight of the first half was Xabi Alonso's 40-yard through pass that put Gerrard in on goal (Hunter called it an early contender for pass of the season...and it really was that good). Gerrard should have scored...then Morientes should have scored the follow up. Moro should have at least 2 goals by now.

Yeah, that was absolutely fantastic. When they showed the camera angle that pointed right at Stevie, you can see that ball fly over his head and land right at his feet. Xabi is a genius.

No subs at the start of the second half, but Baros, Zenden, and Cisse are being warmed up.

I know that this is really immature, but everytime I hear the commentator say "Michael Jackson" I imagine Michael Jackson in a TNS shirt on the pitch and start laughing.

Riise sends one over the bar into the Kop.

Wow... Warnock chases the ball to the touch line, sends it across the penalty area to TLT, who slides in and sends the ball wide. Good play.

Throw in by Zenden by the touch line. Riise recieves, sends a quick cross that meets Morientes. Moro sends it over the bar.

I smell a goal coming soon.

Zenden is awesome. Really stays wide left and tries to beat defenders to send crosses. Before his substitution, there were more balls being sent through the middle. Zenden gives more consistent options for attack.

Gerrard goes down at the edge of the box and wins a free kick.

This could be his hat trick...

Potter off and Cisse on (with a crazy mohawk).

Oh man. Teed up for JAR and TNS comes in with a fantastic tackle. Couldn't even get the shot off.

They are playing Cisse wide right. So far he's not doing too bad out there, either. He can send in a decent cross and he did a good job fooling the TNS fullback.

Oh, heartbreaker! Cisse blazes past the fullback, gets to the touchline, and sends a low cross to Nando, who nets it. Ref blows the whistle and calls offside

Wow. Cisse is just awesome. He's made a great impact since he's been in. Crosses, a couple of shots, and lots of pace.

2-0 is not enough to go confident to wrexham,so sadly we will have to play our starting XI for the full 90 minutes!
