I'm seeing that reportage about now too ... so much for hoping. Damned Achilles - maybe for tall gangly guys it's harder to get a good warm-up stretch on those.? I mean that the front-joint of your ankle will only give so much to allow for to stretch the back well enough......
Everton - do 'em at the new place. damn Turds Palace gave us a toastng in CrystalLondon, so we need another solied Anfield game. Win those two and we should feel good looking at Old trafford. Beat Chelsea and the 4 pt cushion we start these 6 games with is/was effectively 7 pts. Villa away will be tough. Brentford at home hopefully wil by then be safe with a draw.
Clearly he's disappointed for LFC but when he plays for Germany and played for Leverkusen, he is and was a completely different player. Like I said, I think a new manager like Alonso would bring out his best attributes.
Tough result, especially given Liverpool controlled the majority of the second half. They ran their asses off. PSG did PSG things. Thems the breaks. Feel bad for Ekitike. Hope he heals up as quickly as possible. That's a brutal injury. While being knocked out sucks, I'm not as disappointed as Liverpool showed up and gave them a fight. Add some better players next season and hit 'em again.
yeah - I wasn't overly disappointed - after the first leg, I could tell this wasn;t going to be our year. Even though we endured a torrid assault in parris last year - I feel if we had won we probably would have won the tournament, since LFC, PSG and barca were the 3 best sides last year This year - too many injuries and lack of real cohesion and aging legs and etc - I didn't ever really believe it - just held vague hope A cost benefit is that at least we are about to see a fantastic tie between the two best teams in Europe right now.
Is that PSG - BM? Or was that RM - BM - that already played out? - that was a pretty good/fun game to watch
Never want to go out of the Champions League but it's been pretty obvious for a while that we weren't winning this so probably for the best to go out at this stage. Task ahead is pretty straightforward. We play well and get 10-12 points from the last 6 matches and we're in. But going to require some big performances in some difficult grounds. If we do it I can just about accept the "transition" season narrative. If we don't Slot has to go and we need to take a cold hard look at the personalities in the dressing room.
I've heard an Achilles tear isn't quite the death sentence it was in years past but we'll see I guess.
