Official: Liverpool: Mamardashvili, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Isak, Mac Allister, Ekitike, Frimpong, Gravenberch.

So that means Salah, Rio and Gakpo on the bench.

Isak starting should be a boost. And to have options off the bench is important. I have belief.

    Up the Reds.

That looks like the planned lineup after the big buys of last summer.

I don’t think the plan was to play with only 2 forwards in front of Wirtz, and it definitely was not to play with Salah on the bench. But after how the season has gone, and considering how good PSG is, it’s sensible for this one.

I don't see PSG playing a conservative game, especially after the way they sliced us up in Paris. Our hope is to somehow overwhelm them the way Villa have done last season. I'm not sure I see that happening though.
But then again, I didn't think we'd come back from 0-3 in Istanbul.

His minutes are more controlled as a starter, considering this could go into extra time.

Not sure chucking Isak into the second leg of a CL tie is the move I’d have made but

Dejan Lovren, who scored the winner against Borussia Dortmund, has posted this on social media today:

"10 years ago today, I lived every boy’s dream in a Red shirt. Scoring against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League at Anfield — the lights, the noise, the Kop roaring as we fought back in one of the greatest European nights this club has ever seen.

"That goal, that moment, that Liverpool shirt… it’s etched in my soul forever. Still gives me goosebumps. Thank you to every team-mate, every fan, and everyone who made that night magic. This one’s for the memories that never fade. You’ll Never Walk Alone. Good luck tonight LFC. BELIEVE!

Why is MacAllister playing where Wirtz should be playing?

Surely Wirtz should be where Mac Allister is and someone like Gakpo could run up and down the left like Wirtz is doing.

Why start Mac Allister if you don’t trust him in his actual position?

They didn't know how to play with Isak at the start of the season So let's throw him in a match, unfit, against one of the best teams in the world.

Nothing against Isak as a player, but his style isn't what the team is currently setup to support.
