    Hopefully everyone makes it back fit from the international break. I think there are already major doubts over Konate’s fitness. Slot has had a lot of time to think about any changes he wants to make. Really hard to predict a team, but I would like to see this;

    Mamardashvili
    Frimpong Gomez Virgil Kerketz
    Gravenberch Szoboszlai
    Wirtz
    Salah Isak Ekitike

Felt like an excruciatingly long break

Only that Salah often scores 5 goals before breakfast when playing against United, I’d be very tempted to sit him for this game.

Pretty soon sitting him will be the only forward-line option left to try. Just a question of when will Slot do it I think.

sorry, don't get the connection -- unless you mean coz he was rested their last game whereas the other forwards each played 2 (I believe)?

And because ideally he will be full of confidence.

that can be done any time - as you note - "pretty soon". My suggestion is that it won't be this game.

It definitely won;t be this game. Salah puts the fear of God into Man Utd defenders.

Because he’s having a really poor season. Plus he’s been away with Argentina and historically he has looked very tired in the first game back from international duty.

Yes - I take those points, but if Gravenberch is iffy, then he may have to start?? no??

    It could then go
    ...Jones Mac
    ...... Sboz
    Salah Isak Wirtz

I see Mac Allister scored twice against Puerto Rico (6-0 FT) and generally had a good game. Also played against Bolivia. Maybe he’s turning a corner because he hasn’t been a patch on the player of last season.

Haven’t quite understood what his injury and the length of his layoff over the summer was about, but it does seem as if he spent 2(?) months without any training or conditioning, yes?

If he has turned a corner, he’d be a very useful addition against United.

I believe there were reports of a surgery over the summer - but unconfirmed.

There were, but I heard nothing beyond that. It could have been brain surgery or a vasectomy for all I know.

It’s against medical advice to do both in the same calendar year as it leaves men without any functioning brain. :)
