The players must be absolutely gutted to lose like that.

What an awful season this is.

    We're 6 6 8 since the first 5 games.

Arne enjoy the next couple of months. I think that's all you get.

Not gonna happen at this rate. Even Europa and Conference might be a stretch if we're unlucky with injuries. So we're potentially buggering next season too.

So, since the first 5 games, we've played 20 and have 24 points. F'n unacceptable! That's bottom third table form.

24 points out of a possible SIXTY!

As I read elsewhere today- we have a team of world class players. If the majority of them are playing below their abilities, that's on the coach.

The owners are also complicit by throwing in the towel early and not making even a modest investment in defensive reinforcements last month. Szobo's playing fullback for a reason.

2nd half much better actually only 45min-80min. City were there for the taking but our composure dropped after the Dom wonderstrike. VVD standing around & flat-footed on their 1st goal but Ali mistimed coming out of the box. PK was incredibly soft as Ali was playing the ball and there wasn't contact until the ball was out of bounds. Like Salah, I'm beginning to think Ali is done.

Epl is done. No CL next season unless we win it.

Arne is probably done now too (even if he wins the CL - it might be a mutual parting).

Staggering numbers. We have been bottom half of the table - Spurs level but for those first 5 wins.

    Yep -

as a game, once we got going it was a fairly good showing, against the 2nd or 3rd vbest team in the league...

I don't get the over the top moaning. Play like we did in the 2nd half a bit more and the CL spot will come fine...

But the fact is we play a,lot better than Spurs do when we actually play. Our biggest problem is a consistency of focus and effort. IMO

Who could have imagined this after a league-winning campaign and the summer transfer window we had? At this point I'm numb.

I think this season is what it is. We've begun a transition from one edition to the next and we've had a bumpy ride of it .
However , I feel we're only half done and much more work will need to happen in the summer before the team gets back to where we expect to see them.

I'm not enjoying this season .

As well as the uncertainty about the manager situation, and squad stability if European football is missed which is looking increasingly likely.

There are definitely enough issues to share around.

The club shouldn't be trying to reset the team over 2 years. They should be bringing in 2 quality players every season. This allows for the team to be consistently refreshed with limited disruption.

Slot needs to go. He's failed on multiple levels this season. The team weren't prepared for the long season. He's burning out the team by not using the full squad or blooding juniors. He's not adapting his tactics for the players he has. He's not playing form players over 'superstars'. The list goes on and on.

He'll get the sack the moment we get eliminated in the CL. If he wins it, he lives to fight another season

Any metric you look at this season will confirm that Slot needs the sack.

Yep. He's convinced his system works and will work because it's worked in the past and the metrics look good.
He's convinced that if he stays consistent the players will eventually adapt.

We have national team players all over the field and 25 games in they still don't seem to know what to do.

Let us wait till the season ends and see where we stand. A lot of negativity towards the manager. The team is playing much better, and yes it took a while, but we have had major injury setbacks with no reinforcements. Some of these games were lost due to player errors and not the system. Yesterday is an example.

True about player error rather than system. Kinda.

Szobozlai played Silva onside for the equalizer. When a midfielder drops back, the margins are usually less tight; converted midfielders as emergency defenders just do not have the nuance of inches for offside. Player error. Also System error, however, because our purchases should not have been so weak (for the defense) to leave us in a position to need to play Szobozlai at RB.

Alisson fouled Nunea for the winning goal. Hard to find much of a problem with the system here, except we should have a defense that didn’t put him in that situation. Then again, it was a brainless decision. The ball was going out. Player error.
