Kind of looked like a failed attempt to toe poke... but I only saw it the one time. Still one of their only threatening shots, incredibly.

Yep , how often do you get to see your team dismantle the Champions of Europe and prem league champions in the space of five days?

Omg , there will be some "piss boiling" amongst our rivals this week! :)

He was the only one trying at least. Because of that the mancs kept going to him but even he wasn’t good enough. When he came on I thought that we were in for a fight remembering how well he’s done before. But he seemed slower and he’d put on weight around the middle.
He was though, the only one who gave them hope.

It was a battering as we thought:

    XG = 3.53 - 0.80

One near the end, tried to nutmeg the keeper from close but Kelleher managed to smother it and recover.

    That was DeBruyne.

given the number of twinkies De Bruyne has been eating on the bench, it's an understandable mix-up

On replay - glad salah's penalty was perfect because I think everyone knew he was going to change directions after missing the last one the other way.

watching live I thought it was the Blobfish as well. only noticed on the slo-mo it was KdB.

don't know if he's still working back to fitness or what but man he is a faint shadow of the player we've seen in prior seasons.

Beglin gave him big props for stepping up.
I almost closed my eyes as he was getting ready to take it. :)

Got to add if that was given against us I’d have been really pissed. That was a foot drag from Luis into the keeper.
But it wasn’t against us and we’ve had so many turned down, I take it. :)

Not the way I saw it. I take your point that Diaz kinda went looking for contact, but and this is where I do differ with your take, but when Ortega went for the ball, he dived low, went to ground and completely missed the ball. Didn’t even get a touch.

Now, granted Diaz has pushed the ball wide beyond him making it difficult for him to chase and catch the ball, stop, turn and shoot on target (plus Mo was already well positioned), but with Ortega lying on the ground, he was actively roadblocking Diaz, such that even if he never made contact, he was impeding his path to the ball.

I think Ortega not making contact was the determining factor. A finger tip, and it’s a different decision. As it was, he more or less lay down in front of Díaz.

In fairness he did create the possession hypnotism of that Barca team - they weren;t doing that with the Rikjaard midfield of Deco and Yaya and etc, undoubtedly good as that team also was......

I don;t think in a situation like that it matters much. Goalkeeper impeded his direct progress. You drag your foot to make the visual point that you have been essentially torpedoed.....
try imagining him managing to land without falling and still reach the ball and shoot. I reckon the adjustment (if even possible) would have been too much

Thankfully Leroy Sane wasn't there any longer waiting to leap off the bench.....

(kind of game where he would have scored and we'd have only won 2-1!!! ;)

For me that was an awesome performance. Yes, we should have scored a couple more but most of the passing was outstanding.

Was going to give VvD the MotM but he let it slip when he got to cute and was bailed out by Kelleher. Instead, the team as a whole shares the award as everyone did their job to a high standard.

    All together now ........

It's beginning to look a Slot like Christmas
    Arne's on the go
Take a look at our five and ten, winning the ball again
With passing lanes and Salah through on goal

This just in, they don't think we deserve it. Said hi to my Arsenal supporting co-worker this morning and the first thing he said was "it wasn't a penalty".
