So here we are 11th place, and half the points of the leaders. When was the last time we dropped below the half way mark like this, and what will Saturday bring?

Leeds are staring at relegation and they’re only 3 points down on us, you don’t think they’re going to put up a fight for this game do you?! It is not going to be an easy one, especially the way we seem to be going.

On the other hand Leeds games have always been special to us as well, I was around when the “Dirty little Dwarf” Bremner played for them and we had some memorable matches.

Some of you guys know better than me. What’s our team? Who’s in and who is out for this one. I hear Spud is back, what’s with Henchoz, Michael and the rest….?

Stevie G says: "It's rubbish to talk about writing the season off at this stage. On our day we can beat anyone in this league and that goes for Manchester United and Arsenal. If you put a good run together you never know what will happen. Other teams are going to go through a bad patch, we just have to hope we are there and flying when it happens."

    Lineup:

    --------------Dudek
    Finnan----Hyppia----Biscan----Riise
    Diuof----Gerrard----Kewell---Smicer
    --------Heskey----Owen

    Subs:

    Kirkland
    Le Tellec
    Murphy
    Henchiz
    Sonoma-Pongolle

Owen is still iffy but I suspect he'll play. I prefer Biscan at the back but it could be Henchoz with Igor on the bench.

    Le Tallec

I really hope that we get to see Le Talent get into the game and get the goals if Heskey doesnt produce. Or if push comes to shove and Michael isnt ready yet then let him start.

    Re: Le Tallec

The official site seems to suggest that Pongy is the one for one replacement for Owen. Le Tellec is viewed more as an attacking midfielder. Pongolle has many of the attributes of Michael --- flat out speed and quickness with a nose for goal. I don't think he's ready yet, but we'll never know til he's tried? He did score two against the Blackburn for the reserves this week.

Just scored a late ticket to this one. Nice.

Did anyone see the highlights of the Blackburn reserve match on the offal site? Looking spiky, very promising. Apparently Thommo was there taking notes, so hopefully he's in.

I doubt he will displace heskey, but if Owen doesn't make it through then I'm guessing Pongolle will get the nod. Whether or not it's from the start or not is another matter though - I have a feeling Houllier would be more comfortable starting with Heskey and Kewell in a split formation.

As to the thing at the back, I think it will be Henchoz and Hyypia back together. Biscan to persevere in midfield in the holding role, with Gerrard, Diouf and Smicer going at them from the front. Murphy on the bench, he's only just back from that injury, he won't start.

Goal for Micheal Owen. 35th minute on an assist from Riise. 1-0 to the Reds.

Looking at the stats on Soccernet, it looks like we've been pretty dominant.

I think Smicer was taken off due to injury. Maybe Super Danny Murphy will get back into the squad now.

Matteo kicks FSP in the butt, and he's booked.

Batty was also booked a few minutes ago.

Hunter just referred to FSP as Flo. I can only hope that's not a reference to Polly Holliday.

Heskey misses with a header after a nice cross by Finnan.

Some fantastic attacking play by LFC leads to a great shot by Flo and Robinson makes a great save. Must've been a make up for his blunder on Danny's goal.
