Liverpool can really open up a gap for 5th place with our nearest challengers Brighton and Brentford. Woodman Frimpong Konate Virgil Kerkez Szoboszlai Gravenberch Wirtz Salah Isak Gakpo
That’s because Guehi was playing for them; he’s beaten us 5 times this season I think. Now that he’s gone, this should be easy!
Got to look both ways. I’d like those 3 points (have we won two in a row in a while?) to take us up on Villa, that would take care of the ones behind. Exceptional season for Villa, can they hang on.
The first sentence of the review I read of CP's game vs WHam the other day described them as "uninterested". They've lost 4 of their past 6 PL games. They are nowhere near the relegation zone but are in the SF of the UEFA Conference thingee -- so hopefully that's where their focus lies (first leg is Thursday next week). We'll also see if a week's rest helps our lads.
Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Adam Wharton will be available for his side’s trip to Anfield on Saturday. Wharton missed Monday’s 0-0 draw against West Ham after he was withdrawn during the Conference League quarter-final away in Fiorentina. But the England midfielder will be available when Glasner selects his team to face the Premier League holders, as Palace go searching for a fourth win against Liverpool this season. “Adam [Wharton] is good. He is fit and trained yesterday without any issues, so he’ll be available for Liverpool,” said Glasner. “We’ve got no new injury concerns, which is good news. “Two injuries we still have are Eddie Nketiah and Evann Guessand. So they will miss this game.”
Not a problem. Mac Allister will be able to run him down. Alarming Adam Wharton statistic shows why Liverpool could be making an £80m mistake this summer
Palace have been a bit of a bogey team for us this season, beaten us 3 times this season so we need to give 'em some pay back today. Nice to see Will Wright on the bench. He's a natural goal scorer and I'd love to see him get a few mins today.
My goals for the PL are achievable the rest of the season: - Finish above Utd (which assumes CL qualification) - Arse to bottle the PL - Spurs to get relegated (although I wouldn’t be sad if it was WH) Fingers crossed
Wirtz next season is going to have to learn that he doesn't have the same time to make plays. He's got to play 5x faster.
One could conclude that after nearly a full season to acclimate, this is as fast as he can think and play.
