As a note Bournemouth and Brighton winning ... places them 4 and 6 pts behind us respectively with 2 games to go. we do have a better GD than both.
I thought the Chelsea game was our best chance of the three remaining matches to get 3 pts and secure that CL spot. We couldn't do it and I expect Villa and Brentford to be even more difficult.
and we could still loose. This is the first points in 7 games for Chelsea, and they got them on our pitch.
What does that mean to a full turnout team that are weak. Villa are one point below us. I worry we won’t get the likes of Xabi or any top players who want CL.
Liverpool’s xG of 0.51 was their lowest in a Premier League home game since March 2021 [0.28], which was also against Chelsea. - this just isn't even surprising - we don't score and we don't have incisive chances too often that aren't individually created.
It'll be very surprising if they don't. Emery has played a weakened side already in the past week or two in the leadup to Euro games so he's placing his chips on that route to Euro next season and hoping they'll stay in the top 5. Also Burnley might kick crap out of them tomorrow.
How are we still in top 5? The first few games of the season, little blip of good play around February and 3 wins in April are really carrying our season. Last two weeks make me think that the best hope for CL are two more draws. We don't look like we can beat anybody at the moment.
I was wrong - Chelsea lost 6 before today's draw. Only saw the low-lights as I can't watch a full 90 of Slotball anymore. Pretty predictable result. The beatings and boos will continue until morale improves under a different gaffer.
That and conceded the most goals from set pieces. IMHO, both of those stats fall within the managers remit.
