Really reminiscent of the Chelsea goal at the Kop end... wonder how much time passed between both those? Feels close-ish.

he seems an exceptionally fit guy. Never really fvcks up out there in pressure cooker sub-ins.....
but I get your feeling too....

Now, speaking of fit Japanese -man, that other one out there today was giving me real beyond Vincent Price type fear int he first half today every time he got on the ball...

He fought hard to deny them openings in that loose first half. Was very important in helping keep us in that game

And Kudos to kelleher - if he doesn't make that save maybe we likely don't even draw this game....

at this point it's hard to argue with that.

a very small sample size so far - yada yada - but so far in each game his subs are kinda like "yeah, that makes sense", not just in addressing the realtime game situation but in managing players' minutes very well. yesterday's changes was a highlight example of this.

I still don't think we are doing a great job of getting our strikers clear chances from the possession phase - but that will probably come with time.

Midfield positioning and the inconsistency of the press remains a key problem, for me. I hate 4-2-4.

Terrible first half. Seemed like we couldn't make a single pass to a red shirt never mind string a few passes together. However ........ although we were definitely not at 100%, I think a big part of this was pressure from Brighton so credit where credit is due.

    Gomez was great.

Szoboszlai is still underrated on here.

But a huge win. Results this weekend were almost perfect for us.

That was a superb comeback by Liverpool, that goal by Salah was truly world class.

That shot used to be MO’s trademark. Good to see it back.

Not sure it ever went away, more opposing defenders know not to give him the inside, to push him wide.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that. A second defender often blocks the inside when given the chance.

    Szoboslai’s off-the-the-ball work is immense.

it is - but at this moment it's all he has.

No goals, no assists (I might be wrong on this), and really sloppy passing.

Exactly. I’d rep you twice if I could. Too many of us (myself included) have been fooled by his shirt number, 8 and his somewhat resemblance to Gerrard in his hustle and passing around the goal. Plus his propensity for sometimes taking frees.

He has a good leg, even two, but his strength is not his goals or even his assists, it’s his constant hustle and usually decent passing. He’s kinda a 6 that plays in the 10 position.

He has at least one goal.

We obviously disagree about his passing. :p

my bad - I meant PL.

He does have a CL goal - and 3 assists overall (2 PL and 1 CL).

In 13 games - and almost 1000 mins.

I think we are also fooled by what he was at Leipzig. I thought we were getting a flair player who can play as number10 or on the wing. We are also fooled by how well he started. His first few weeks at Liverpool he was the best midfielder in the league.

I appreciate what he is contributing. He’s up alongside Nunez leading then press and then often ends up defending our own box. The amount of running he puts in is outstanding.

At the same time, as our #10, on the ball he finds himself in some incredible positions. If he was in better form on the ball he could have made or scored several goals. I think Dom playing better could take our attack to another level.

Well, he still has the shot - it's just more often on the outer side of the frame!
    ;)
