Time to put up a convincing 3-0 and hope Spurs drop points @ (improving) Blackburn

    Reina
    Kelly Carragher Agger Enrique
    Henderson Gerrard Adam Downing
    Suarez Carroll

Henderson (as we saw vs United) is much more effective with Gerrard on the pitch, they can alternate at RM and RCM and it gives Henderson the much more free role he needs to be effective. Put Carroll instead of Kuyt in this one for confidence purposes...hopefully he can grab a goal.

Do ONE of the following: Start Agger in place of Skrtel OR Johnson in place of Kelly. I'd personally rather only one defender coming off injury to be in the lineup, and I think Agger is an upgrade over Skrtel and Johnson is more or less equal to Kelly.

Carroll should definitely go back into the lineup.

can't believe how little interest there is:

    ------------------Reina-----------------
    Kelly-------Carragher----Agger--Enrique
    Hendo/Gerrard---Gerrard/Hendo--Adam--Downing
    -------Suarez--------Carroll-------

Bench - Hansen, Johnson, Bellamy, Kuyt, Skrt, Spearing, Coates

That's not a bad line up. Kuyt and Bellamy to come on when they're (Norwich) beaten up.

Why? I like Kuyt up front with his work rate and I would have thought the quick pass game would be a problem for Norwich, not exactly Carroll's strong suit.

I should just not join in with conversations about Carroll, I find it so hard to like the game when he plays. I don't think I have any impartiality around my head when we talk about him ...

To be completely fair, Gerrard is back in the midfield now, and adds the creativity we've been lacking. That lack of creativity keeps the CBs from utilizing them to get the ball forward, resulting in desperate hoofing (which you cannot blame on Carroll). Besides, you can't just give up on him and if you aren't willing to play him at home vs Norwich when are you willing to use him?

I could be wrong about the hoofing thing, but it's a theory that should be tested.

It's more that I am disappointed when he does get the ball, the funny thing is that I didn't have high expectations of him because of the price or anything, I just don't understand his game more than anything else. He just seems like he's sort of on his own during the game. I am sure he is talented but I guess I struggle to see how he fits in.

I think with regard to Norwich I would rather see an emphatic win and see the team grow in confidence.

Carroll deserves the start. I like the idea of him and Suarez putting Norwich to the sword. I'd bench Kuyt as he seems in poor form at the moment. Also, Bellamy needs a run in the 2nd half.

Norwich will not be pushovers. Both Man U and Chelsea were lucky to beat them and if we blink as we did against Wolves and the skanks, we'll not get the 3 points we are hoping for. On the other hand, I hope Gerrard plays a more advanced role than either of his central midfield partners, if we go with a 4-2-3-1 starting formation.

If there's one part of Adam's game that is world class, it's his set piece taking.
2' he finds skrtel all alone from a corner and he hits the crossbar with is header

Agreed. We should have been ahead sooner though considering the chances we have created. Now we just need to score again, so I can relax...

    1-1...

I'm sick of this tactical bulls*it where we sit back once we get ONE goal. We don't have the back line to be pulling that off.
