And the ritual abuse of Crouch continues. Taken off for Kuyt, despite working his arse off, while Torres remains on the pitch. And L'OM just scored. Great.
And to continue the theme, I hate that Crouch is expected to chase all kinds of long balls, constantly fight off defenders, drop deep to pick up passes, and if he doesn't score, he's had a poor game. Yet Torres does bugger all the entire game, and then the problem is that he hasn't gotten enough service. Why does one player have to work for everything while the expectation is that the other one will be served everything on a plate?
yeah marseille are playing liverpool off the park. who knew. they are advertising why french football is not as bad as people think.
Heh.... I really don't know what to say. That was beyond pathetic. We will be lucky to qualify for the UEFA Cup if we keep this up, and I'm not just talking about this this year. Sissoko should have been taken off at half time as he was by far our worst player... kinda like Midas but in reverse. Everything he touched turned to shit. Actually thats insulting to shit. I agree. Off load him to Juventus in January if they still want him... hell why not pay for them to take him away
******** me!!!!!!! You want to here my biggest complaint about tonight's performance besides the fact that Marseille played us off the pitch for 90% of the match. It's that Liverpool decides not to turn on the urgency until it is too late. Forwards were bad today. Torres, for being called a "versatile" player was stuck on the last line of defense waiting to chase a through ball. Crouch and Kuyt worked hard but didn't show an end product, and Voronin was played out of position. Midfield had a shocker. Gerrard was not himself for almost all of the match...maybe like 2 minutes of it. Sissoko was aweful and gave the ball away much too often and it led to OM's goal. Benayoun and Leto did nothing. Riise didn't do much more either. Defense was bad. They weren't pressured constantly but they definitely got beat more times than I would have liked. Benayoun, Gerrard, Torres, and Hyypia all had at least half-chances to score. This result puts us in a must-win position when we travel to Besiktas. Disappointing, I can't really see any positives. Can't take anything away from OM they played well and their goal was an absolute beauty.
What else is there to say? I'm overly frustrated and depleted after this pathetic shameful performance. This was even worse than Birmingham. We basically shot ourselves in the foot here losing at home. Just ********ing sad, everyone and everything was pathetic. I can't say I'm too hopeful this year.
