I hope Zenden can suck as bad in the CL as he did last year for us.

Jokes on Cisse aside, I've always liked the lad as a person, and this shows that he has a bit of humility others are missing.

With Nasri out, Marseille will most likely play a 4-1-2-3.

    ____________Mandana_____________

    Bonnart___Givet____Rodriguez___Taiwo

    _____________Cana (C)____________

    ______Ziani___________Cheyrou____

    Niang________Cisse_________Zenden

I reckon we will start like this:

    _____________Reina______________

    Finnan____Carra___Hyypia____Arbeloa

    Yossi_____SG_____Masch_____Babel

    _________Crouch___Torres_________

Bench: Itandje, Riise, Aurelio, Sissoko, Leto, Kuyt, Voronin

There is no reason why SG should play RM and be taken out of the action. Just a stupid idea. We have 3 players who can play RM (Pennant, Yossi, Babel), 1 is suspended so choose from the other 2. Babel hasnt played recently so unless injured (if so Riise can start LM) he should be fresh to give as many minutes and provide plenty of attacking threats.

When attacking we will have 5 men going forward plus 2 full backs if needed, with masch to mop up all of Cisse's failed tricks losses of possession. Masch mite even break Cisse's leg again, given how fragile it is.

    _____________Reina______________

    Finnan____Carra___Hyypia____Arbeloa

    _____________Masch_____________

    Yossi__________SG___________Babel

    _________Crouch___Torres_________

Yossi, SG and Babel can all move around and provide attacks from different positions rather than being stagnant like we were in last few Prem matches.

I reckon the goals mite flow (im hoping), and 4-0 to us!

    do they have bruno cheyrou?
three ex-'pudlians in the opposition team? could be a better evening than we had thought.

I hope the fans give Cisse respect, I am sure they will. Sure he wasn't always the best for us, but he scored some important goals and had some good games. Always loyal to the shirt.

Bruno Cheyrou never signed for Marseille and he's not with them now. He plays for Rennes. I think that's Benoit Cheyrou....or spelt something like that.

As to the recent 'debate' regarding me and my apparent affinity for all things Chavski, I was perfectly civilized when I first came to this board and simply stated, slightly tongue in cheek, that Yossi was our player of the season. I instantly got accused of being a Chelsea fan and that this was a fake account. Doesn't sound that welcomign to me. My attitude since has been a direct result of that treatment.

And that's my final comment on the subject except to say that had you treated my original post with some semblance of respect you would have received the same in return.

....And back to Liverpool Vs Marseille

Cisse always gets respect from the fans. He always put his heart and soul into his football. HE suffered some horrific injuries and was treated pretty badly by Rafa and LFC in general (not one of our better moments). But the man bled red and ever since I learned of his Liverpool wedding in red tux, he became legend.

I just can't see Anfield booing anyone that played in Istanbul, let alone scored a penalty. Him and Zenden should be welcomed with a great atmosphere hopefully.

The pedant in me says this is called movement, whether on or off the ball. The point, though, is well made. And I feel we haven't consistently created and exploited this commodity since we routed Arsenal at Anfield.

I fondly remember his little dance as the trophy was being handed to Liverpool on the podium. He is just a very colorful character.

Yes he did. You loaned Bruno to them for one year. He was crappy but he used to play as left winger...

Bruno and Benoît are brothers. They played together at Lille before Bruno left to Liverpool and Benoît to Auxerre. Benoît is a good player but he's in difficulty for now at Marseille.

    I see a 3-0 for you. You're too strong.

You're right, you know our team better than a Liverpudlian who goes to every match.

Is Riise up for it? If so, I'd like to see something like this:

    ----------------Reina--------------

    Finnan------Carra---Sami----Arbeloa

    Gerrard-----Momo---Masch---Riise--

    --------Kuyt------Torres----------

Aurelio gives it away easily and Reina has to make his first save. Corner.

    Boring first ten minutes otherwise.

Edit: I can't believe how sloppy the passing has been. Heavy rain at first, but it's died down.
