Skrtel is pulled up for dragging back Aguero. Silly foul.

 

Silva and Aguero seem to slice our defence open with ease.

 

Aguero forces a save from Reina, and it's half-time.

 

Silva isn't being picked up when he drops and then runs forward.

 

We've competed well it has to be said but you get the feeling that any second we could concede.

 

Downing has been a bit anonymous to me and is being carried by his team-mates at the moment. Against City we can't afford that. Enrique after a somewhat nervous starter has got better and has offered more. Agger has been brilliant but Skrtel is allowing himself to be flustered.

I hope we don't have that typical second-half syndrome, again.

 

I think we're overrun in midfield by City's midfield.

What I want to know is why when Enrique is running down the left flank does Downing, cut in field, only to turn around and pass it backwards? It's frustrating to watch. Enrique is quick and has a great cross on him, it would make more sense to really use that left flank.

 

Adam and Henderson tend to back off players rather than hassle.

Downing is far too conservative-- he's got the skill set to do much better than he currently is.

Oh, and we need to do better at corners

 

52 minutes and Toure puts Aguero through but he's offside. Danger there. Toure in an advanced position is more dangerous than Milner.

 

Great cross by Downing which Kuijt heads into the ground and wide. That is more like it.

The crowd rises to the occasion.

Adam burgles Silva, passes to Kuijt who finds Henderson but he's off-side. Good football. Good there by Adam.

 

Downing just needs a goal, he needs confidence.
