With the victory over Wrexham we are on to Celtic. We can get a glimpse of them against Chelski on Saturday.

Dunno about LFC, but most of the supporters will be returning to NYC (and probably Boston). Try www.lfcny.org

Hope you're not wearing your red and white 'hooped' shirt for the match.

No, I'll have on my brand new Gerrard kit in red (already old school in #17) but I will have my split "You'll Never Walk Alone" LFC/Celtic scarf I bought on Walton Breck Road.

Well the Bhoys did not look very good at the back against Spartak London. The young lad Beattie played well but they really look disorganized and to have to play us 52 hours and all the way across the continent after this debacle will be a tough examination. Also MON will still be in Glasgow tending his seriously ill spouse. The Bhoys can either roll over or suck it up and play extra hard. I expect the latter, but still think we will have the advantage. Our only problem should be fitness but the forecast calls for Partly cloudy and 2o celsius at kickoff.

    True, true.

I wonder when we actually fly in and start getting over our jet lag.

The way Benitez paced the sideline at Wrexham I don't think he will want us to take the match lightly. I do expect a lot of subs in the second half though. FSP running against the Celtic defenders will be fun!

The Guinness is ready and waiting for FSW to show this one to me live from my little house in Kansas.

They flew in today (Saturday). By Monday they should be ready to go. Of the 3 games Benitez will probably experiment the most in this one. I read that in the Roma game he will start with the team that will start against Tottenham. I can't wait till Monday.

For those going to the game make sure you have a photo ID on you (passport, license whatever). At previous events I have been to there you have to go to a special station and get a bracelet that means you are over 21 in order to buy alcohol. With out the bracelet you can't buy any beer or anything.

See you studmuffins tomorrow! I'll be on the bus, but I'll look for that sexy "greenish beige Ford Freestar" with the D.C. crew in it.

I never thought I'd see the day where LFC would actually profit (financially and otherwise) from a preseason tour in the US. I am SO excited for this, and I hope to show the boys a little bit of the support they have over here. (I bet their expectations are pretty low, given our reputation as a footballing nation. They're probably expecting ten drunken ex-pats with scarfs or something . . .)

Sorry, one more thing: if any of the rest of you are on the bus, come introduce yourself at the bar before we leave, or on the bus ride and I'll buy you a beer. Name's Justin. I'll be the big guy (6'4", 250 pounds) in the black, short sleeved Gerrard shirt. I think I'll have my long black Reebok warmup pants on too (don't know how hot it's gonna be).

The missus might or might not be with me; she doesn't know if she's gonna get off work in time yet. So if I'm flying solo, some of you are going to have to be my hot dates.

This is going to be sweet.

Here's to hoping that our game is nothing like the game played in Chicago today. I actually feel bad for the Scum fans who payed big money to watch their youth team. Fergie didn't even throw them a bone by playing Howard.

    Aw jings, help me boab. You putting the words 'running' and 'fun' in the same sentence as 'Celtic defenders' means that every time Liverpool attack, I'll have this tune in my head;

    http://www.whirligig2.freeserve.co.uk/tv/bennyhill.wav

To all the Liverpudlians and Bhoys who'll make the match another fantastic occassion, drink, sing and be merry.

I'm hoping Liverpool runs Celtic over, but the Scotts didn't look too bad against Chelski. THey gave 'em way too much space but they broke through that defense on a few occasions. It's a friendly but I'd like to see a little seriousness from all players.

I am excited. More than I should be considering we'll probably play 20 players again.

It is a friendly after all. But Benitez has said he wants to win, so I'll take him at his word.

Looking forward to seeing Cisse, Baros, Gerrard, Owen, FSP, etc. all getting a run out.

Looking forward to hearing the crowd singing YNWA.

It's not often I get to see Liverpool play live on TV at 7pm at night. No play by play text comms tonight, I'll be stuck in front of the telly!

Ditto on all fronts, Kopite! I was just chatting with a friend over IM about how wierd it's gonna be to watch a live game at 5 PM here. The timing is perfect, too, because after the match the Giants are playing the Padres and my girlfriend is coming over to cook dinner with me. It's gonna be a perfect night.

Perfect so far, 2-0 Half Time. Riise and Owen.

Before we get too excited (and we have every resaon to be) Celtic just look awful.

Liverpool playing quickly and passing well. Dangerous every time we attack. Defenders looking solid.

    Biscan playing great, really!

Kewell seems to be having a stinker tho :(

Brilliant lob by Owen, nice free kick by Riise (was it deflected?), and I look forward to seeing Cisse and Gerrard in the 2nd half. I envy all of you guys at the game. The atmosphere (especially the renditions of YNWA at the start) seems to be great compared to yesterday's blah match of Scum vs Bayern. So.. whoever is singing and chanting.. keep up the good work! :)

Fantastic start to the season. The way we are playing seems diff and fresh already. But you are right - Celtic looks bad, very bad.

More goals in second half, and cisse and pongo!

    GO REDS.
