v Didn't see any match thread. Mods merge if appropriate. In the last meeting between these two teams we got out of jail with a dodgy goal. I expect much better from Liverpool this time and, by jove, more than just the odd goal. Benteke looks as if he has a goal in him and somebody seems to be working on his firs touch but we need others to contribute with more than just powder puff shots in the general direction of goal. Allen will probably come in to spell Lucas and, hopefully another sprog or two.
We have to do better than the Spuds. Well forget that, we don't have the bestest striker in Engerland. We have one but he's just a part timer. Well we're at home with a squad eager to score. Could be fun
Would be a great time to give the 2nd string a run out - but they're all injured. I imagine we'll see Skrtel & Sakho, Enrique, Allen, Ibe, Firmino, and Benteke at the start. Probably keep Milner, Lallana, Clyne, and Mings in there, too.
Are you kidding? We are in desperate need of a win. We have 1 win in our last 12 games and our last game against Bournemouth was a narrow win. We need to play a strong team and get a result for morale and for the very real danger that we dont get anything from our next two fixtures at Stamford Bridge and a 16 hour trip to Russia.
It's not like our first team is a sure thing. I'd rather give them the week for the 2 more important games coming up than waste their legs against Bournemouth.
He needs to use this game to figure out how to get a productive offense from these player. He has a lot to figure out quickly before we can start climbing up the league table. Last weekends tie was a lost opportunity to pick up ground on the Manchester teams.
Klopp: "I don't know how many changes we will make [against Bournemouth], but for sure one or two young players [will play]."
mignolet randall.. skrtel.. sakho.. moreno brannagan.. can lallana.. firmino.. ibe benteke need a win here to get off the schneid.
FWIW .... I watched hilites of the Bournemouth-Spurs game. It didn't look like Spurs battered them eg Spurs goals included (a) a pen (b) a simple tap-in of a rebound (c) a pure goalie error. B'mouth also hit the post so it wasn't a runaway at all. even with lots of key guys out, they are no pushovers.
james pearce saying teixeira in contention tomorrow. yes, please. i really like this kid. also in the article he says that enrique might have been in contention to spell a tired moreno, but he hasn't trained recently due to a knock. due to a knock. guy hasn't played since january. a knock.
Fcuk! Is this injury due to being so match unfit? That's interesting. I had thought the scoreline reflected total dominance by Spurs. We need goals (plural).
I hope he gets a start too. He's not registered for the Euro squad so he'll see no games there and with Klopp sticking with his core players in the league playing time for Teixeira will be tough so the League Cup is really his best chance.
With the stadium evacuation today are there any implications on whether the game takes place or not? If it is a security issue perhaps the game might be called off.
Hey plays some of those youngsters and they look legit, that core squad is going to change very quickly.
No Benteke. No Sturridge. No Ings. Perhaps Hard Bobby plays through the middle and shows some of his Hoffenheim form.
Firmino will start as the striker/false 9. Sinclair may indeed get some time. Expect brannagan, Ibe and Tex to start.
