    [sigh] wtf was Zenden thinking.....

oh well, not the end of the world. WE have our hearts on the FA / Uefa cup double this year ( )

I'm gracious in defeat...too poor from us 1st half - should have got an early goal and made you sweat and work for it.

All the best in this comp this year - rather you than the geordie scum! :D

I'd forgotten we had a game today......rats. Sometimes tough in work though.
Just read through fro the begining. Good comms you guys. Good game Liverpool.

Just a little sidebar and a pet peeve. Offside is singular. When a player is in an offside position when the ball is played forward his is deemed "Offside"

Now when a player has been in an "Offside" position 6 or 7 times he is deemed to have caught "offsides" (Plural) to many fvckin' times.....where are you now Nicky Anelka...!!!

Yes, it's Arsenal to go to Old Crapford, We visit White Hart Lane, Chelski go to Craven Cottage, and Pompey are away at Watford.

Just back from the local, watching the game on Setanta Pub Channel --- MOTM was Eye-Gor. Bossed the midfield and dominated. Diao surprisingly effective as a destroyer. The young lads played well. Whitbread did very well at the back. D-jimmy was superb again. Flo-po not so good at all -- lots of touches and tricks but no real danger. Potter, Warnock and Partridge played very well. Finally, young Mellor took some time to get going, but when he did he took both his goals well. All in all, a good game and a result that had an element of luck. Zenden's goal was a perfectly good goal and we'd still be screaming if it was the other way. They also hit the post. Could easily have been a result like last saturday. Still we are fun to watch and I'm smiling this evening.

Not bad - we basically beat millions and millions of pounds worth of Middlesbrough Premiership talent with last year's youth team. At one point, the Kop were enjoying a front six consisting of Partridge, Potter, Welsh, Biscan, Warnock and Mellor. Not too shabby.

Having said that, Warnock had a poor game and Mellor did little other than score his two goals. I know, I know - that sounds churlish but the fact is he is cast as a hold-it/link-it target man and the fact of the matter was that he was shocking in the air and never really got into positions from which to hold the play high up the pitch.

That makes the performance even better, despite it only being the Carling Cup.

As i was watching online at work the Mellor goals go in and glancing over other scores/results, I suddenyly realised that we're likely to get a London side, so I hoped it would be Spurs away - new ground for me to visit and we never weem to be able to win there with our first team, so maybe our reserves will be luckier. :)

I think by the time Arsenal arrive at Anfield in a couple of weeks' time, they are going to be very beatable.
