shag it!!! Thnx...... (in any case I think the European jaunt is gonna postpone til Sept... I'll know tomorrow)
there's more than one?? the only other one I know was (is?) a primary school in Bootle, that my wife went to.
No, no. Happens to me a few times in the pre-season and often during the season. Betis and Burnley, who wouldn’t mix them up?
rumour has it I once confused Brentwood with Bournemouth. and then Bournemouth with Brighton. it's the damn "B" teams.
So this is how our shape is looking heading into our first pre-season game a week today (granted not all will be there). Alisson (Kelleher) Trent Konate Virgil Robbo (Bradley) (Sepp) (Quansah) (Kostas) Endo (Bajcetic) Salah Szobo Mac Gakpo (Harvey) (Grav) (Jones) (Diaz) Nunez (Jota)
Liverpool lost 1-0 to Championship side Preston in a behind-closed-doors (gives me flashbacks to Covid) friendly this afternoon. Mo Salah et al featured in a strong first-half XI.First proper friendly for Arne Slot’s team is next Friday in Pittsburgh against Real Betis. #LFC 🔴— Lewis Steele (@LewisSteele_) July 19, 2024

For shame, for shame. It's going to be a long season!* *I mean these days every season is longer and longer it seems
One of those largely meaningless games from the result aspect. Same for those tour matches Stateside. Most important thing besides fitness is Slot getting his ideas across to players , a task made more difficult as they return in dribs and drabs . I think the Euro 24 comp has really complicated the job for Slot and the coaches .
Just watched the highlights on LFCTV. Preston scored in the first half off a poor bit of play from Bradley, and bad positioning from Jaros. Quansah had passed to Bradley in what looked to be a normal pass as they were moving it around the backfield. Preston crashed a runner at Bradley, who got stuck with it in his feet and was stripped of the ball. The Preston player then lobs the ball over Jaros from about halfway between the penalty box and halfway line. Jaros was too far out and got caught in no man's land. Even still Preston were lucky as it deflected off the crossbar into the goal. Outside of that, Liverpool were peppering the Preston goal and created a ton of chances in the first half. Not as many highlights from the second half, but Nyoni looks like he's going to be some player!
If anyone can grab that highlight reel and post it for us buggers who don;t have the club's TV subscription it would be nice.....
I see now what Hubba meant by Nyoni is gonna be some player, I like his close dribbling and forward thinking style. Very confident young boy.
I actually thought he was still out injured long term so it's great to see him back, do you reckon he'd be called upon over Harvey if Salah was unavailable?
From the highlights it looked like Jones started in the 6 with Elliott and Szobo as 8’s. Endo subbed on before halftime, not sure who for. Doak was left wing, Salah right wing, and Carvalho through the middle. I agree thar Nyoni stood out from the second half highlights.
How did Sepp look? From the highlights he played LCB? Agree about Nyoni and that’s only from watching him during the Carling Cup. Looked like he had something extra the others didn’t.
Happy now? Trent Konate Virgil Robbo (Bradley) (Sepp) (Quansah) (Kostas) (Gomez) (Gomez) (Gomez) (Gomez)
