Agreed. I was there last in April 2019 (as I like to brag about ) and I was very impressed with the city.
My trip was 2013 now (wow that's ages) - and it was nice. It was like Baltimore - some really bad parts - but a lot of good.
Yeah, the first time I went was 2014 (Suarez's final game for us and missing the title by a hair) and we made the mistake of walking through a blue part of town (unknowingly). Pretty run down and got a lot of shit from people driving by. 2019 was much better.
As I suspected-- Klopp sees things differently from most of us. He admits that bringing on Keita would have made more sense but Milner and Oxlade-Chamberlain had trained really well ... https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/...de-sense-but-ox-and-milner-train-really-well/
it’s a weird excuse on this one. And bringing Milner on for any game that we are chasing makes almost no sense. When was the last time Milner scored a goal? Ox - I suppose I can see some rationale because he is an attacking player - but he is woefully short of matches too.
Thas has been a feature of Klopp's substitutions, though, hasn't it? If he has one fundamental weakness, it is this (and little deviation from an original game plan or format.) Our players seem [recently] to be so incapable of changing or adapting to any tactical switches by the opposition and afraid to take the initiative. I do wonder if the backroom staff could also be doing their bit by, for example, making in-game alterations suggestions? We don’t even that old swap of flanks between Mané and Salah to boot. It’s as if the entire team is so frozen with fear.
on a macro level, buying Keita was intended to make a real change in our approach to games, especially packed defences. same with Thiago. both midfield players whose styles are radically different to anything we had before. why TF Klopp would leave Keita on the bench in a game crying out for his ball-carrying skills, is beyond me.
Probably exactly as he explained, Keira didn’t look too sharp in training. But I would have thrown him on anyway. Probably one of many reasons why I’m not a pro football coach
so why put him on the bench? Keita is the obvious choice to replace Thiago. it sounds to me like Klopp rationalizing a bad decision.
holy crap - somebody involved in the game of football has actually made a sensible decision !! The Conmebol council have confirmed that World Cup qualifiers in South America have been postponed. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had aired his frustration over the potential of his South American players having to self-isolate upon their return to Merseyside.
Mohamed Salah has been called up to represent Egypt for their 2021 AFCON qualifiers in March, with the No. 11 not set to visit a country red-listed by the UK. In mid-March, players from across world football will once again jet off around the world for international fixtures during an ongoing pandemic. FIFA have offered an exemption, providing clubs with the right to refuse a call-up should certain circumstances come into play, such as an enforced quarantine of five or more days. It is set to see the likes of Diogo Jota and Naby Keita held back on Merseyside after Jurgen Klopp voiced Liverpool’s intentions to deny their international departure.
Roy Keane called Liverpool 'bad champions' but delve deep and you find there are many of those in the last decade... It is testament to the strength of the Premier League that success is largely not sustained. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...N-SAMUEL-Delve-deep-bad-champions-decade.html
We The North The Toronto Raptors have taken to social media to show their support for Liverpool following Arsenal’s win over Tottenham in the North London derby. The Gunners got the better of their arch-rivals for the first time since December 2018 on Sunday afternoon, winning 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium. And after the game, the NBA team’s official Twitter account responded to a tweet by B/R Football to show their support for Liverpool. After B/R Football claimed 'North London is red' - the raptors responded with: 'We prefer Merseyside Red.' https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...onto-raptors-arsenal-liverpool-claim-20157703

I love it that the other 14 EPL clubs voted down 5 subs, take the piss out of Klopp & Pep when talking about fixture congestion and having to play games ~36 hours apart or in Klopp case - 2 games on essentially the same fucking day on two different continents. Because fucking— Stephen Drennan (@babuyagu) April 22, 2021
