I think they're still in a secure biosphere in common with clubs in the Champions League in Portugal and Europa League in Germany.
ah shit .... A member of Liverpool’s playing squad, currently on a pre-season training camp in Austria, have tested positive for coronavirus. The Reds travelled to Austria over the weekend as preparations for the new campaign get underway. Their original plans were cancelled due to quarantine rules amid the coronavirus pandemic with Jurgen Klopp’s team being put through their paces in Austria instead. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/breaking-liverpool-coronavirus-pre-season-22539347
there is potential for fans to be allowed into Prem games this coming season, but at reduced numbers. according to this analysis, we could have about 14k people in attendance ... https://talksport.com/football/7474...tadiums-one-metre-social-distancing-measures/
still no announcement from the club on the positive test, but 12 Prem teams apparently have positives ... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...virus-tests-12-pre-season-training-camps.html
2 preseason friendlies announced: Stuttgart Saturday 8/22nd noon EST Red Bull Salzburg Tuesday 8/25th 10am EST https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...ws/liverpool-transfer-news-live-dijk-18792002
and right on cue, that's exactly what the UK government does .... shit!! The rule change means anyone travelling from Croatia, Austria and Trinidad and Tobago to the UK will have to self-isolate for 14 days, and comes into effect at 4am BST from Saturday (August 22). http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1043710085?-51484:38338:most_read_top
Looks like everythings still a go , Sam. Liverpool are to continue their pre-season preparations as planned despite Austria being placed on the UK quarantine list. The ECHO has been told that Liverpool will not fall under the rule after applying for an exemption through the Football Association. It is believed this is because they are considered elite athletes with matches scheduled during their time in the country.
yeah my family texted me on that a while ago. still not sure if the travel risks outweigh whatever benefits we get from this trip.
On the plus side they are sort of in a bubble ie a relatively isolated camp . However, I do agree that travelling anywhere during a pandemic carries risks.
i don't play Fortnite much anymore, but my son brought this to my attention its a new emote dance... make sure the sound is on
vote vote vote! Istanbul is currently top, ahead of Manure - keep it going ... https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/53618163 Champions League final: Vote for the best one yet
It's most likely either Wilson or TAA, according to Physioroom. Both are out of action for undisclosed reasons.
Probably not those according to the Echo. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Wilson have missed the Austria training camp through injuries, but both are minor and will not impact the pair’s involvement in the Community Shield. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...-alexander-arnolds-liverpool-absence-18780574
I hope that's correct, but we are then relying on the veracity of the report from the club. I think LFC may have a motive in obfuscating the actual reason for TAA's absence. I hope I'm wrong, but it wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened. I note that the specific type of injury seems to have been omitted from the advisory.
read an article a couple of months back where the manc writer on ESPN tried to shade it for ManUre Bayern. I can’t even remember the preposterous reasoning that he grasped for to try to justify it.
'Moneyball' sports mogul Billy Beane is reportedly considering purchasing a minority stake in Liverpool. Earlier this month, Beane - executive of Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics - and sports banker Gerry Cardinale disclosed they had raised $575million (£433m) in the hope of purchasing a professional sports franchise. The duo have set up their RedBall Acquisition Corp special purpose acquisition company, which has attracted the money from investors to buy an acquisition target that must be determined in the next two years, after which cash will be returned to investors if no purchase has been made. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...e-moneyball-liverpool-fsg-investment-18821399
